Blizzard Releases World of Warcraft’s Most Expensive Mount Ever

Blizzard just rolled out the new Trader's Gilded Brutosaur mount in World of Warcraft’s in-game shop, sporting a hefty $90 price tag. Available exclusively for The War Within expansion, this is currently the priciest mount ever to be put in WoW's store. Players can grab it with real money or, if they’re savvy with in-game Gold, use WoW Tokens through the Auction House to cover the cost.

This mount isn’t just about looks like a lot of others have been, though. Originally, players could get their hands on the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur, a similar mount introduced in Battle for Azeroth for five million Gold, but it disappeared from regular availability when Shadowlands launched. The big draw with these Brutosaur mounts? Access to the Auction House on the go. No more trekking back to Stormwind or Orgrimmar just to check prices or buy supplies; you’ve got the Auction House right there along with a built-in mailbox and vendor access for quick repairs and item sales. It’s convenience on wheels—well, on massive dinosaur legs, to be precise.

The Trader's Gilded Brutosaur also gets a fresh new look, with dark skin and ornate golden armor studded with colorful gems. But don’t expect to see this beauty in Classic WoW. It’s exclusive to The War Within, and Blizzard has said it’s sticking around in the Cash Shop only until January 6, as part of WoW’s 20th Anniversary celebrations.

For those tight on real-world cash but sitting on a pile of Gold, there’s the WoW Token route bought with in-game gold, but as of the first day of release this mount was reportedly going for over 1.4M gold on the auction house (roughly taking 6 WoW tokens).

Whether this will become a rare collector's item down the line is anyone’s guess. For now, it’s a premium-priced option for players wanting a slice of convenience wrapped in the guise of an anniversary celebration.
