Alchemy Factory Automatic Cashier Guide

Alchemy Factory Automatic Cashier Guide

Figuring out the automatic cashier is one of those small moments that suddenly makes your shop feel alive. Once it clicks, you stop babysitting customers and start focusing on the factory.

How The Automatic Cashier Works

The automatic cashier replaces manual checkout at your shop counter.

Customers place their items, pay automatically, and leave without you interacting at all. The money is stored inside the cashier until you collect or move it.

If the cashier fills up, customers will stop checking out and the bell will ring. That is your warning to empty it.

How To Place The Automatic Cashier

You do not place it freely on the floor.

The cashier must be attached directly to the sales counter.

Open the Build menu. On PC the default key is Q. Look under the Other category.

Stand facing the customer side of the sales counter. Place the cashier on the right side of the counter. If it snaps into place, you are doing it right.

Once placed, customers will immediately start using it.

Collecting Money From The Cashier

Money does not disappear automatically.

You have 2 options.

  • Manually interact with the cashier and collect the coins

  • Connect a belt from the cashier to a storage box

If the internal storage fills up, customers will queue and complain. Always keep it draining.

Automating Coin Handling With Belts

The automatic cashier supports belt output.

Connect a belt from the cashier into one or more storage boxes. Copper stacks fill up quickly, especially early game.

Later on, you can route coins toward portals to convert copper into silver. This saves space and speeds up progression.

Using higher tier belts reduces how fast the cashier backs up.

Common Placement Mistakes

These issues trip people up often.

  • Trying to place the cashier without owning it from the shop

  • Placing it on the wrong side of the counter

  • Dropping it near the counter instead of snapping it onto the counter

  • Forgetting to empty it, causing customer backups

If customers are still waiting at checkout, the cashier is either full or not placed correctly.

Using The Cashier With A Fully Automated Shop

The cashier pairs well with automated shelves.

Feed shelves using belts and catapults. Let customers grab items. The cashier handles payment.

Some players route cashier output upward using elevators to fuel portals or labs. This keeps the shop floor clean and uncluttered.

Once set up, your shop can run for long stretches without intervention.

Final Blurb

The automatic cashier turns your shop from hands on to hands off. Place it on the sales counter, keep the coins flowing out, and your customers will handle themselves. Once you automate money, the rest of the game opens up fast.
