Blue Prince: Car Keys and Garage Door Guide

Unlocking the Garage in Blue Prince takes a little patience and planning but the rewards are worth it. You’ll need both Car Keys and access to a Utility Closet to make the most of this room.
How to Find the Car Keys
Car Keys are special items that let you unlock the parked car inside the Garage. Inside the car is a stash of rewards, including an Upgrade Disk, which lets you permanently enhance a room type. The keys can be found in several places:
• Puzzle rewards: The Billiards Room dart puzzle sometimes drops Car Keys.
• Trunks and chests: Check locked containers throughout the manor.
• Desks and dressers: Especially in dead-end item-heavy rooms.
• Locksmith shop: Sometimes available to purchase when it appears in your draft.
How to Unlock the Garage Door
Even if you draft the Garage, the door may still be shut. To open it, you’ll need to do one of two things:
1. Flip the switch in a Utility Closet:
• Draft a Utility Closet, ideally in a corner.
• Interact with the Breaker Box and set the Garage switch to ON.
• If you flipped it before the Garage appeared, you’ll need to flip it again after the Garage is present.
2. Use the Boiler Room or Aquarium:
• Activate the Boiler Room, then connect it to the Garage using only gear-type rooms (like Workshop, Security) or red rooms.
• Alternatively, use the Aquarium with the Electric Eel upgrade, which works like a powered Boiler Room.
If the ducts or ceiling vents connect the Boiler Room or Aquarium to the Garage, the door will open automatically.

What’s Inside the Garage?
Once unlocked, head inside to claim the following:
• Three keys
• Car (locked unless you have the Car Keys)
• Upgrade Disk (inside the trunk)
• Extra loot: gold, gems, and notes
West Gate Path and Outer Rooms
After entering the Garage, follow the west yard path south until you find a gate near the manor entrance. Unlocking this creates the West Gate Path, a permanent shortcut and access point to Outer Rooms.
Outer Rooms offer early-game boosts or puzzle options. Some highlights:
• Tomb: Leads to the Underground.
• Toolshed: Often has a Shovel or Sledgehammer
• Shrine: Buffs if you donate gold—curses if you take it back.
• Hovel/Schoolhouse: Needed to light the blue flames.
Final Blurb
The Car Keys might not seem like a big deal at first, but they unlock more than just a car—they open access to long-term upgrades and one of the most useful shortcuts in the game. If you're lucky enough to find them, use them well. If not? Well... maybe check under the next trunk, just in case.
