Borderlands 4 All Charged Up Guide & Walkthrough
The All Charged Up side mission in Borderlands 4 is a long escort quest that ends with the Sludgemaw boss fight. It ties directly into Rhodes’ story and rewards both loot and cosmetics. Many players want to know the full walkthrough since this mission mixes puzzles, defense waves, and a tricky underground battle.
You unlock All Charged Up after completing Null and Void. Once unlocked, you can begin the mission by speaking to Rhodes at Horizon’s Mar northwest of Idolator’s Noose.
How to Unlock All Charged Up
Clear the Null and Void mission first. After that, head to Horizon’s Mar and speak with Rhodes. This officially starts All Charged Up and sets you on the path to escort the implosion drive.
All Charged Up Walkthrough
Escort the Implosion Drive
Push the implosion drive with a melee hit to load it. Move north to Watershed Gate and help the Outbounders defeat Order guards. Once clear, talk to Rhodes and open the loading bay by letting ECHO-4 hack while you hold off enemies.
Escort the drive into the hydroplant. Use the switch on the left to operate the elevator. Continue following the drive as Rhodes and Conway move with you. Clear more enemies before reaching the reservoir.
At the reservoir, turn the valve to drain water, then flip the switch on the opposite side. Lower the loader and take out the incoming drones. Enter reactor maintenance, reach the control room, and raise the reactor. Collect three reactor components, two near crates and one upstairs. Install them, then lower the reactor again.
Return to the loader, lower it with the switch, and escort the drive further. Park it on the northwest platform and unload the implosion drive.
Kill Sludgemaw
Head back to the control room and activate the reactor. Defend the drive while clearing enemies. Once the area is secure, eject the implosion drive with the switch behind it. Use the vending machines nearby to restock before the boss fight.
Jump down the hole and follow the drive into the cave. This triggers the Sludgemaw fight. The boss burrows and ambushes, so dodge immediately when it surfaces. It can also fire projectiles.
For an easier fight, stand on the crate behind the implosion drive. Sludgemaw cannot reach you from the ground, but its projectiles can still hit you, so stay alert.
Talk to Rhodes
After Sludgemaw is defeated, inspect the implosion drive. Leave the lower section and return to Rhodes. This finishes the mission.
