Deltarune Chapter 5: How To Get Pink Coins
To get Pink Coins in Deltarune Chapter 5, search the Garden, Cliffs, Castle, fox room, statue puzzles, 2D platforming sections, and side paths near teleport doors. You need 10 Pink Coins to buy the Pink Key for the secret boss route, but there are more than 10 Pink Coins total, so you can miss a few and still get the key. Note that we'll continue updating this as we play!
I would not treat Pink Coins like normal money sitting on the main path. Chapter 5 hides them behind backtracking, perspective changes, suspicious statues, optional rooms, hanging bells, hidden foxes, and routes that only make sense once you come back from the other side. If a coin looks impossible to reach, the answer is usually not “jump better.” It is “change the room first.”
If you are already cleaning up Chapter 5 secrets, the Deltarune Chapter 5 Egg room location is worth doing during the same backtracking pass. The Pink Coins and Egg both reward poking at rooms that look normal until they start acting extremely suspicious.

How To Get Pink Coins
You get Pink Coins by finding hidden side routes in Chapter 5, especially around teleport doors, 2D platforming areas, statue puzzles, fox rooms, and optional paths.
The best way to search is to treat each teleport door like a small hub. Enter the area, check one or two screens in every direction, then look for anything that seems slightly off. Pink Coins are often close to a door, but not always directly beside it.
Look for these clues:
- A coin or chest you can see but cannot reach from the front.
- A statue that changes the room into 2D mode.
- A hanging bell or coin above the normal route.
- A room Ralsei calls optional.
- A group of statues that can be pushed or knocked around.
- A fox room or hidden fox interaction.
- A path that only works after getting a new movement option.
- A teleport door with suspicious side screens nearby.
My rule is simple: if the coin looks unreachable, stop trying the same jump. Go farther into the area, trigger the room’s mechanic, then backtrack. Chapter 5 hides a lot of its Pink Coins by making the correct path start somewhere else.
Known Pink Coin Locations
The known Pink Coin locations are spread across the Garden, Cliffs, Castle, fox route, optional platforming rooms, and backtracking paths near teleport doors.
This is not a fake “all 19 exact locations” checklist but will be updated as we get all of hte information together/sorted after our playthroughs. The safer way to use this guide is to search by area and mechanic, get 10 Pink Coins for the Pink Key first, then keep sweeping if you want the extra special items later.
| Area | Known Pink Coin Checks |
|---|---|
| Garden | Chef sides, shrine route, 2D archway path, upper vine or leaf path |
| Cliffs | First underground section, first climb door, hanging route, diner-side 2D route |
| Castle | Optional platforming room, east statue puzzle, pressure plate room, 2D backtrack route |
| Fox Room | Five-fox route, hidden door, terracotta room, top-left hidden path |
| Late route | Check near the boss door and nearby teleport doors before committing |
The big thing is to search with a pattern. Do not sprint across the whole chapter randomly. Pick an area, clear every nearby side room, then move to the next door. Pink Coin hunting gets miserable fast if you turn it into unorganized panic.
Garden Pink Coins
Garden Pink Coins are mostly found around Chef-area side paths, shrine backtracking, 2D platforming, and upper routes that are easy to miss if you stay on the ground.
Known Garden checks include:
- Left of the Chef area.
- Right of the Chef area.
- The Garden path past the archway while 2D mode is active.
- The route past the “taking too long” style section.
- The shrine route where you climb up, get above the shrine, then jump across the top path.
The shrine route is one of the easiest to miss. From the shrine door area, climb the leaves or vines, get above the normal route, then jump across toward the next screen instead of dropping back down.
If you are missing one Garden Pink Coin, I would recheck the shrine roof path first. It is exactly the kind of route that feels obvious only after someone tells you it exists.
Cliffs Pink Coins
Cliffs Pink Coins are hidden around underground paths, climb doors, hanging routes, brown umbrella sections, and 2D backtracking near the diner route.
Known Cliffs checks include:
- A coin to the left of the first underground section.
- A coin near the first climb door by going down and using Ralsei’s hanging movement early.
- A coin connected to the brown umbrella area after a running or falling section.
- A hanging coin near the diner route.
- A coin reached by going right into platformer mode, then backtracking left.
The diner-side hanging coin is a common problem. If you can see the coin but cannot reach it, go farther right until you can enter platformer mode, then backtrack left. The route depends on the perspective change, not on forcing the jump from the normal screen.
If you are missing a Cliffs Pink Coin, recheck rooms where the game made you climb, fall, swing, or run. Those are usually the rooms hiding the painful coins.
Castle Pink Coins
Castle Pink Coins are usually tied to optional platforming, statue puzzles, pressure plates, and rooms that change after you push or move certain figures.
Known Castle checks include:
- The optional platforming room Ralsei points out.
- The east castle statue area.
- The room to the right before entering the castle, where pushing figures onto buttons opens a path.
- The main castle room where some statue-like figures can be pushed or knocked off ledges.
- The far-right 2D statue route that lets you backtrack left to reach a coin or chest.
For the visible coin or chest that looks unreachable on the left side, go far right and hit the statue that changes the world into 2D mode. Then return left without taking the normal upward path. In 2D mode, you can reach places that looked blocked before.
The Castle coins are where players waste the most time trying to solve the room from the wrong screen. If pushing statues or changing perspective is possible, do that first.
Fox Room Pink Coin
The fox room route has a Pink Coin tied to finding the five foxes.
If you are stuck at four out of five foxes, recheck the terracotta statue area and the rooms just after the fox room. The missing fox can be hidden behind an interaction, behind a screen, or disguised as part of a moving hazard.
Fox route checks include:
- Push the statue or knight with space around it to reveal a hidden door.
- Check the top-left side of the terracotta room for a hidden opening.
- Interact with suspicious statues instead of assuming they are only decoration.
- Check behind screens and bouncing projectiles after the fox room.
- Finish the five-fox route before assuming your missing Pink Coin is somewhere else.
If you are missing one Pink Coin and also missing one fox, solve the fox route first. That is probably not two separate problems. That is one problem wearing fox ears.
Where To Spend Pink Coins
You spend Pink Coins at the pink shop by the Cliffs, where you can buy the Pink Key once you have 10 Pink Coins.
If you have enough coins but cannot find the shop again, use the teleport doors to return to the Cliffs route. The shop is an actual in-world shop, not a separate menu or chapter select option.
If the teleport doors are not active yet, keep progressing until backtracking opens up. Players have reported that cutting the giant hedge at the front of the castle and watering the sprout helps activate the door network, which makes it much easier to return to earlier areas.
I would buy the Pink Key once you have 10 coins. Do not delay the secret boss route just because you are missing extra coins for later items. Get the key first, then continue cleanup.
Video Guide
If you want a visual route for Pink Coins, use the embedded video guide below.
I would use the video once you are down to your last few coins. Written checks are better for understanding the route logic, but missing Pink Coins can become a screen-by-screen problem fast.
What To Check If You Are Missing Pink Coins
If you are missing Pink Coins in Deltarune Chapter 5, check the common backtracking spots before sweeping the entire chapter again.
Use this order:
- Check the Garden shrine roof route.
- Check both sides of the Chef area.
- Check the Garden 2D archway path.
- Check the Cliffs first underground section.
- Check the first climb door and Ralsei hanging route.
- Check the diner-side hanging coin after entering 2D mode.
- Check the Castle optional platforming room.
- Check the east castle statue puzzle.
- Check the far-right 2D statue route, then backtrack left.
- Check whether you finished the five-fox route.
- Check one or two screens around every teleport door.
The fastest way to find a missing Pink Coin is to remember what blocked it. If it was too high, think 2D mode, jumping, or hanging. If it was behind a wall or chest route, think statues and pressure plates. If it was tied to a strange room, think foxes or hidden interactions.
Pink Coins are not hard because the chapter expects perfect execution. They are hard because the chapter hides them behind mechanics you might only use once and then forget. Recheck the weird rooms first. That is usually where the missing coin is sitting.
