Deltarune Piano Puzzle Guide (Chapter 4)

You can unlock the chapter 4 secret boss and get Susie’s magic axe in Chapter 4 by playing a hidden melody on the golden piano (aka organ, or the piano puzzle). First, you’ll need to find three music sheets/notes tucked away in weird places before the game blocks you off.

Where to Find All Music Notes/Sheets

First Music Note Location (Water Cooler Boss Fight)

Third Sheet Music Location (Water Cooler Battle)

Go to the area with small waterfalls and cup-like walkers.

Climb to the very top, where there's a peaceful pool of water. Walk to the right and you’ll be jumped by a Water Cooler.

Win the fight and you’ll get the sheet music.

Second Music Note Location (Shadow Statue & Footsteps Room)

Now head toward the long hallway with tall windows. Climb the wall/tower at the end to enter another shadowy room.

In here, your footsteps vibrate and you’ll notice statues spread around. Wander northwest until you find a yellow panel on the floor. Step on it to trigger the second music note.

Last Music Note Location (Behind the Waterfall)

Go to the donation waterfall, where you can toss money into the pond.

Walk behind the waterfall and you’ll enter a shadowy room where your footsteps make colorful sounds. Look for a “wall made of bells” and climb it (you’ll see yellow vibrations coming from it).

Keep exploring in the dark until you step on a blue glowing panel. That’ll reveal the first sheet music note. You’ll then meet the old man.

How to Reach the Golden Piano

There are two ways to reach the piano, but both involve climbing bookshelves.

From the study room, use the top-left door near the boss’s room. Climb the right shelf, then another one above it to reach the piano.

Or, from the fireplace room, go upstairs and take the door on the left. In the next room, climb the right-side shelf to reach the same place.

If the route back becomes blocked later, reload a save made before you advanced too far.

The Correct Piano Puzzle Solution for Deltarune

Once you’re standing in front of the golden piano, press the following buttons in order:

Up, Dot, Up, Left, Down, Dot, Right, Dot, Right, Down, Left, Dot

Play it exactly and you’ll trigger a cutscene, unlock Susie’s magic axe, and start the secret boss encounter.
