Hollow Knight Silksong Far Fields Guide
Far Fields is one of the most confusing areas in Hollow Knight Silksong. Found east of Deep Docks and south of Greymoor, it can easily trap players in a looping path if they miss a key quest. This guide explains how to progress through Far Fields, complete the Seamstress quest, and reach new exits without wasting hours circling the same routes.
How to Reach Far Fields
To access Far Fields, move east through Deep Docks and past The Marrow. After the Lace encounter, Hornet enters a lit tunnel that leads directly into the region. The first goal here is to activate a Bellway and bench checkpoint using Rosary Beads to create a safe respawn point.
Why Players Get Stuck in Far Fields
Far Fields feels like a maze because one of its main routes requires a specific traversal upgrade. If you don’t complete the Seamstress’s quest, you won’t be able to ride wind currents. Without this skill, it’s impossible to leave the area, which forces players into an endless loop.

The Flexile Spines Quest
How to Start the Quest
The Seamstress lives inside a red tent found in the eastern part of Far Fields. She asks Hornet to collect 25 Spine Cores dropped by Hokers in the southern grounds.
Reward for Completion
After delivering the materials, the Seamstress crafts the Drifter’s Cloak. This upgrade allows Hornet to ride wind currents, which is the true key to progressing out of Far Fields.
Exits From Far Fields
Once you have the Drifter’s Cloak, there are three ways out of Far Fields:
Backtrack to Deep Docks.
Use the Bell Beast Bellway.
Float upward to Greymoor.
Optional Secret: Mask Shard
With the Drifter’s Cloak, you can glide into an upper area above the Seamstress’s balloon. Start by following wind currents to the right, then break explosive rocks to unlock new air streams. After clearing three rocks, glide left into a hidden chamber. Break one final bomb to reveal a Mask Shard buried beneath the ground.
Finding the Bellway
To break free from the loop, stay on the lowest path in Far Fields. You’ll eventually face the Fourth Chorus boss. Defeat it, then move left until you reach a wind current. Use the Drifter’s Cloak to ride upward, break another explosive rock, and reveal the path to the Bellway. Activating this Bellway lets you warp between waypoints and safely escape the region.
Pilgrim’s Rest
Above the main passages of Far Fields lies Pilgrim’s Rest. This sanctuary can be unlocked for 30 Rosary Beads, giving you a bench and a safe hub. From here, continue riding wind currents and breaking rocks to progress upward toward Greymoor.
Greymoor
After climbing past Pilgrim’s Rest, more currents will guide you higher until you reach Greymoor. This is the natural continuation of the main story after completing the Seamstress quest.
Final Blurb
The Far Fields is one of Silksong’s trickiest zones, designed to trap players until they earn the Drifter’s Cloak. By finishing the Seamstress’s Flexile Spines quest, Hornet gains the power to ride wind currents and escape the loop. From there, you can reach Pilgrim’s Rest, unlock the Bellway, and continue north into Greymoor.
