The Blasted Steps are reached from the upper left section of Shellwood. You must climb up from the lower part of Shellwood using the Cling Grip ability to wall jump. Without this upgrade, you cannot reach the entry platforms.
Once you climb high enough, head left toward the resting point with a Bench. This acts as your checkpoint before the tougher section. From there, keep moving left and prepare for narrow platforms, spikes, and enemies along the path.
Required Abilities for the Blasted Steps
You need the Cling Grip to scale walls and ledges. The Drifter’s Cloak is also required to glide across wide gaps and ride the strong wind drafts. Sprint is not mandatory but makes dodging enemies easier.
If you are missing either Cling Grip or the Drifter’s Cloak, you will not be able to progress. Collect these upgrades first before attempting the climb.
Step-by-Step Path to Blasted Steps Through Shellwood
Here are all the steps you need, plus a video at the bottom if you want a visual.
Start at the bottom of Shellwood and climb to the upper left passage using wall jumps. Continue left until you reach the Bench and rest.
From the Bench, head left across small floating platforms. Use gliding to cross wide gaps, but watch the wind since it can push you off. Wall jump to climb higher ledges and slash through crystal blocks with downward attacks to unlock more platforms.
Enemies guard many of these ledges. Some leap down from above, while others block narrow paths. You can dash past them, but it is safer to bait their jump before moving underneath. Heal only when you are clear of projectiles and spikes.
At the end of the climb, you will reach a long gap to the right. Glide carefully across while controlling your landing. Once you cross, you will hear the singing of the map NPC. Keep moving right until you find them on the ledge.
