How to Fish Achievements Guide
How to Fish has 28 achievements covering creature hunting, cooking, boat upgrades, island events, gambling, boss challenges, and full-game completion. Most can be earned alone, although additional players can make the larger combat encounters and campaign objectives easier to manage.
The achievement list looks more intimidating than it is because several objectives naturally overlap. A normal playthrough can clear most of the collection, upgrade, food, and story-related achievements, leaving the one-hour completion, unusual boss restrictions, rare catches, and luck-based rewards for dedicated cleanup attempts.

Best Order For Completing Every Achievement
Use the first playthrough for exploration instead of immediately attempting the one-hour completion. Kill each new creature you encounter, investigate island events, cook different catches, upgrade one weapon, and work toward the strongest boat engine. This builds progress across most of the achievement list without forcing you to repeat basic tasks later.
Concentrating weapon resources is more efficient than spreading them across the entire arsenal because Fully Equipped only requires every upgrade on one weapon. Engine progression works similarly: the first improvement unlocks Getting an Upgrade, while eventually purchasing the best engine completes I Am Speed and provides what you need to attempt I’m the Bird Now.
Collector and Fishipedia should be treated as long-term cleanup goals. The first tracks the regular creature roster, while the second requires the shiny variants. Keep hunting unfamiliar targets throughout the playthrough rather than leaving the entire catalog until after the ending.
Bean and Handyman deserve separate planning. Bean requires completing the game within one hour, while Handyman restricts how you defeat the final boss. Learning the campaign route during a normal completion makes both challenges much more manageable than attempting them during a blind first run.
Early And Easy Achievements
Getting Started
Kill any creature for the first time. This should unlock naturally as soon as you begin engaging with the game’s hunting mechanics.
Noob
Kill a creature while no kill-score multiplier is active. Your opening kill can satisfy both Noob and Getting Started if you complete it before building a multiplier.
Drip
Find and kill a drip creature for the first time. You only need one qualifying creature rather than every version of it.
Grillmaster
Activate a grill for the first time. The food does not need to be cooked perfectly for this achievement, so simply starting the grill is enough.
Getting An Upgrade
Purchase an engine upgrade for your boat. This only requires the first improvement and unlocks well before the achievement for obtaining the best available engine.
Cooking And Food Achievements
Dinnertime
Catch a fish, cook it on a grill, and deliver the finished meal to the Lady in the forest on her island. The achievement is tied to completing the full catch, cook, and delivery sequence rather than merely speaking with her.
Yummy In My Tummy
Place a fish on the grill and intentionally leave it cooking until it burns. Eat the burnt fish yourself to complete the achievement. Do not remove it when it first reaches the properly cooked state.
Competitive Eating
Defeat a mini-boss and consume its remains. Make sure you eat the defeated creature instead of selling, abandoning, or using it for another purpose.
Combat And Weapon Achievements
Let Me Go
Allow a seagull to pick you up before attacking it. Once you have been lifted into the air, shoot the seagull to escape and unlock the achievement. Killing it before it grabs you will not satisfy the requirement.
Impressive
Reach a 5x kill-score multiplier and eliminate another creature while the multiplier remains active. Build the multiplier on manageable targets, then secure the required kill before the bonus expires.
360 No Scope
Use the 360 to kill a creature without using a scope. The achievement refers to the equipment requirement, so do not aim through an attached scope when taking the qualifying shot.
Everyone’s Dream
Kill a seagull with dynamite. The explosive must deliver the actual killing damage, making this different from weakening the bird with dynamite and finishing it with another weapon.
Fully Equipped
Purchase and apply every available upgrade to one weapon. You do not need to fully improve the entire arsenal, so focus your resources on a weapon you expect to use throughout the campaign.
Easy
Defeat any boss in under 10 seconds. Attempt this after obtaining stronger equipment and weapon upgrades so you can deliver enough damage immediately instead of spending part of the time repositioning or preparing.
Island Quest And Event Achievements
Who Stole My Beer
Track down the creature responsible for stealing the beer and kill it. Carry its corpse back to the Lighthouse Keeper to finish the objective and receive the achievement.
Vacation
Find the tourist who cannot swim and prevent them from drowning. Discovering the tourist is only the beginning of the event; they must survive the encounter for the achievement to unlock.
Terrorizing Bird
Complete the island event involving the Terrorizing Bird and protect the islanders from its attack. Pay attention to defending the islanders rather than focusing exclusively on damaging the bird.
Deadliest Catch
Participate in the military campaign against the large creature and help defeat it. This achievement is connected to that campaign encounter rather than an ordinary creature found while sailing.
Boat, Money, And Gambling Achievements
I Am Speed
Obtain the best engine available for your boat. Each earlier engine purchase contributes to reaching this point, but the achievement only unlocks after securing the maximum upgrade.
I’m The Bird Now
Make your ship fly. The best engine is important for producing the speed needed to launch the boat, so completing I Am Speed first creates the easiest setup for this achievement.
Rich! Millionaire
Catch something valuable enough to sell for at least 100,000. This is based on the value of the precious catch being sold rather than gradually accumulating 100,000 through many ordinary sales.
All In
Participate in roulette and place your bet on green. The result depends on the wheel landing on that selection, so this achievement may require more than one attempt.
GOLD GOLD GOLD
Receive a Legendary skin as a reward from the slots. Because the achievement is tied to the reward outcome, continue using the slots until the Legendary skin appears.
Collection And Completion Achievements
Collector
Catch and kill every creature in the game. Work through this during normal exploration by hunting unfamiliar species instead of repeatedly farming the same profitable targets.
Fishipedia
Find and kill the shiny variant of every creature. These variants are separate from the regular collection requirement, making Fishipedia one of the longer cleanup achievements even after Collector is complete.
We Are So Back
Complete the game. There is no special time limit or combat restriction attached to this achievement, making it the standard reward for finishing the campaign.
Bean
Complete the entire game within one hour. Save this for a later run after learning the essential route, required encounters, and fastest ways to keep the boat moving between objectives.
Handyman
Defeat the final boss using only your hands. Avoid dealing damage with guns, explosives, or other weapons during the fight so the finishing attempt remains within the achievement’s restriction.
Final Blurb
How to Fish has 28 achievements, but most can be completed during one thorough campaign run. Prioritize new creatures, island events, cooking objectives, one fully upgraded weapon, and continuous engine improvements while progressing through the game.
The remaining cleanup is concentrated around shiny creatures, expensive catches, gambling rewards, the flying-ship challenge, and specialized completion runs. Finish the campaign normally before attempting Bean’s one-hour limit or Handyman’s hands-only final boss, since knowing the route and encounters will save considerably more time than trying to combine everything during the first playthrough.
