Last Epoch: Best Tornado Shaman Build (Season 2)

Image Credit(s): Eleventh Hour Games, Last Epoch

If you're tired of slowly chipping away at enemies in Last Epoch and want to turn every battlefield into a lightning rave, the Tornado Storm Shaman might be your next obsession. This setup turns you into a walking weather disaster—calling down bolts from above while standing in the middle of it all like it’s just another Tuesday.

What This Build Does

  • Spams Tornado, which auto-casts Storm Bolt in a wide radius

  • Uses Maelstrom, Warcry, and Summon Spriggan for defenses and buffs

  • Moves with Fury Leap but benefits more when standing still

  • Doesn’t need Uniques, but definitely shines when you get the right ones

Core Playstyle

Drop Tornados, watch them zap everything nearby, and occasionally leap into position like you're late to a lightning party. You’ll stand still often (thanks to Foot of the Mountain bonuses), so know what damage you can eat and what will send you to the loading screen.

Key Skills

  • Tornado – Your main source of carnage. Stack nodes for duration, double cast, and bolt frequency.

  • Storm Bolt – Triggers automatically from Tornado. Scales off added spell damage and Attunement.

  • Summon Spriggan – Provides support, healing, and a friend to take damage for you. Dies often. Still helpful.

  • Warcry – Instant defense and a Maelstrom trigger. Spam it on cooldown.

  • Maelstrom – Defensive layers, movement speed, and chill effects. One cast after Warcry is enough.

Recommended Gear

This build works fine without Uniques—but it gets silly good when you add:

  • Eye of Storms – Massive flat spell damage for Storm Bolt

  • Wrongwarp – Reduces spell cost and boosts damage

  • Mantle of the Pale Ox – Redirects damage to your minions (yes, really)

  • Foot of the Mountain – Bonus buffs while standing still

Don’t forget Julra’s Stardial early on for bonus mana regen.

Stats to Prioritize

Offense:

  • Attunement (for Storm Bolt scaling)

  • Mana Regen (to fuel your Tornado habit)

  • Added Spell Damage

  • Crit Multiplier

  • Lightning Pen/Resistance Shred

Defense:

  • Health

  • Armor

  • Endurance

  • Dodge (pairs with Foot of the Mountain)

  • Resists and Leech

Loot Filter & Scaling

Grab or build a loot filter that flags:

  • Attunement gear

  • Mana efficiency affixes

  • Relevant Uniques

  • Totem/summon health for Spriggan tankiness

And remember—flat damage rules this build. Don’t lean too hard on % increases unless you’ve got a solid base first.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Big AoE with passive damage

  • Insane survivability

  • Doesn’t rely on gear to work

  • Very Hardcore-viable

Cons:

  • Less effective while moving

  • Tornados can miss fast targets

  • Spriggan’s life insurance policy needs better coverage

Final Blurb

The Tornado Shaman is great for setting up your storm then watching everything melt while you relax in your little hurricane bubble. Easy to learn, hard to kill, and wildly fun once you get going. If you like the idea of destroying screens full of enemies with zero button mashing, this is your build.
