OSRS Grid Master Smithing Training Guide
Smithing is one of the fastest 99s in Grid Master once you unlock the right relics. The event’s boosted XP and relic combos make it possible to max this skill in under half an hour with the crystal item method.
Fastest Way to Train Smithing in Grid Master
The best Smithing method to gain XP in Gridmaster uses Crystal Shields, Crystal Seeds, and Singing Bowls in Prifddinas. This setup also gives Crafting and Farming XP at the same time. Credit to u/Ill_Sprinkles_9976 on r/2007scape for this specific method.
Buy Crystal Shields from Islwyn in southeast Prifddinas. Change their left-click option to Revert, then turn them all into Crystal Weapon Seeds. Trade those seeds to Pennant at the crystal tree patch for Crystal Acorns. Plant the acorns, grow the trees, then chop them down to collect Crystal Shards.
Use the shards at a Singing Bowl to make new Crystal Shields, Halberds, or Helmets. Each inventory crafted gives both Smithing and Crafting XP. Revert the items back into seeds and repeat. The process loops cleanly and can hit 99 in minutes.
Level and Relic Setup
Crystal Shields need 78 Smithing and Crafting, but Production Prodigy lowers that to 66 with its +12 boost. You can also use a Crystal Armour Seed instead and make helmets at level 70 (58 with boost).
Golden God makes this easier by letting you buy infinite Crystal Shields and cover the material cost. With both relics active, you’ll never run out of gold or shards.
XP Rates and Method Speed
A full inventory at the Singing Bowl gives massive XP per craft. Most players reach 99 Smithing, Crafting, and Farming in around 20 to 30 minutes of looping. The only slow step is reverting items back into seeds.
Early Training Before Prifddinas
Before reaching Prifddinas, start with Power Miner for early Smithing XP. Smelt the ores you mine and craft simple bars to prepare for relic unlocks. Once Golden God or Production Prodigy are active, swap to crystal crafting right away.
Alternative Smithing Methods in Grid Master
Not everyone wants to sit in Prifddinas spamming crystal gear. Here are a few other solid routes that fit different progress stages.
Giants’ Foundry
Giants’ Foundry is still great if you haven’t reached Prifddinas yet. The 5x event XP turns each trip into huge progress, and the Golden God relic covers your bar costs easily. Just use Mithril or Adamant bars and go for long sword molds for consistent XP.
Cannonball Loops
Once you have Production Prodigy, cannonballs are extremely fast. You can smelt entire inventories instantly, and it stacks Smithing XP while giving you ammo for ranged relic setups later.
Platebody and Dart Tip Method
If you’re linking Smithing with Fletching through Craftsman, you can make rune platebodies or dart tips using bars from Power Miner. Dart tips feed directly into ranged training when you unlock the Drygore Blowpipe or TzHaar darts, keeping your progress efficient.
Final Blurb
Smithing in Grid Master takes almost no effort once you set up the crystal loop. The relic synergy turns one of RuneScape’s slowest skills into a quick max, giving you an easy route to 99 while also boosting Crafting and Farming.
