OSRS Sailing Guild - What We Know
Old School RuneScape (OSRS)

The idea of a Sailing Guild has been floating around since the skill launched... Or even before that really. While Pandemonium already acts as the main Sailing hub, we’ve seen players asking if a real guild could still have a place in the game.

Does OSRS Need a Sailing Guild

Right now, most of the things a guild would normally offer already exist. Pandemonium is the unlock hub, the Barracudas handle advanced Sailing content, and docks act as natural progression milestones. Still, a proper guild could bring its own flavor and prestige.

Guilds in OSRS usually serve as level-locked hubs with unique perks. A Sailing Guild could follow that pattern, giving high-level sailors new reasons to return to the docks. Think of it as the equivalent of the Farming Guild but for the open sea.

Potential Level Requirement and Location

The general community idea seems to sit around 80+ Sailing as the requirement. That keeps it exclusive but reachable for endgame players. The best potential location would be near Deepfin Point or Laguna Aurorae since both already tie into high-tier shipbuilding and rare resources.

Adding a guild on a new mid-ocean island could also make sense, acting as a centralized port between the northern and southern seas.

What the Sailing Guild Could Offer

Here’s what a proper Sailing Guild might include if Jagex ever adds it:

  • A drydock for high-tier ship upgrades without traveling between ports

  • Guild-only salvage zones for better resource drops and faster repairs

  • New facilities like a Navigation Hall for charting challenges

  • Access to daily or weekly merchant contracts for Sailing XP and coins

  • A shop selling paints, schematics, and rare materials for tokens

  • An internal bank and crew lounge for easy management between voyages

Adding these systems could give the skill a true late-game home similar to the Farming Guild or Woodcutting Guild.

Why Pandemonium Might Stay the “Guild”

Some may argue that the Sailing Guild technically already exists. Pandemonium is linked to every Sailing system, including your first ship, early upgrades, and quest content. Since the skill revolves around world travel, Jagex likely designed it to be a decentralized experience instead of one hub.

It’s possible they’ll expand Pandemonium instead of adding a separate guild, especially if future updates include new sea regions or master-tier Sailing contracts.

Final Blurb

A Sailing Guild would be a great endgame addition if done right. It could combine late-game facilities, merchant content, and exclusive unlocks in one hub. But for now, Pandemonium and the Barracudas already cover most of what a guild provides.

Regardless though, we think it’d be pretty cool.
