RimWorld Odyssey Weapons Guide
Written by Andrew Hammel
The RimWorld Odyssey DLC adds unique weapons with randomized effects, special mods, and custom names. You can't craft them, only find them through quests, ruins, and space missions.
Each weapon is a modified version of a normal gun, but with extra perks like incendiary ammo, AI targeting, or underbarrel attachments.
Unique Weapons
These weapons use familiar gun types like shotguns and SMGs, but they spawn with custom traits.
You might find a chain shotgun that shoots fire pellets, or a heavy SMG that deals toxic damage. Some have attachments like grenade launchers or EMP canisters. Others are just flashy with things like jade trims or gold casing.
They look different, sound different, and act different in combat. Every one is rare and can’t be duplicated.
How to Get Them
There are four confirmed ways to find unique weapons in Odyssey:
Finishing special quests like mercenary crypt raids
Looting ruins, bunkers, or orbital crash sites
Finding crates in jungle, insect, or reactor zones
One secret method that has not been revealed yet
Most weapons are guarded by enemies or locked inside high-threat areas.
Drone and Trap Weapons
Odyssey also includes new drones used in combat and as traps. Once researched, they can be built at your base.
Hunter Drones
Rush targets and explode on contact. Can be deployed from wearable packs or placed as traps.
Wasp Drones
Break into swarms and inject venom that paralyzes. Best used to slow down melee units.
Sentry Drones
Heavily armed with scatterguns. Found guarding ruins. Can’t be trained but can be copied as turret-like defenses.
Mechanoid Weapons
One new mechanoid, the Cyclops, uses a gatling beam repeater. It deals high damage and pierces shields.
This weapon is used during the final mechhive missions in orbit. It’s not confirmed if players can claim the weapon, but it is part of enemy loadouts.
Final Blurb
Odyssey's best weapons aren’t crafted, they’re earned. Each one you find adds a new way to fight, defend, or explode something important. If you're lucky enough to loot a grenade-launching shotgun with a name like Thunder Buddy, protect it with your life... or someone else’s.
