If you were wondering what's next for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, surprise—there's already an in-game roadmap. You’ll find it tucked into the main menu after you create your first character.

Here’s a quick look at what’s coming and already confirmed in the RuneScape: Dragonwilds Roadmap.

What’s Coming in Future Updates

These are all listed in the in-game roadmap, which means they’re officially in the works:

  • New Region – Fellhollow, ruled by a new Dragon Overlord called Imaru (a lovely name for something that will probably ruin your camp).

  • More RuneScape Lore – Expect new quests, new music, new gear, and maybe even a sprinkle of old-school nostalgia.

  • New Enemy Type – Lesser Dragons. Because the big ones weren’t enough trouble.

  • Magic, Ranged, and Farming Skills – More skill trees are coming, including ranged combat and actual farming.

  • Dragon Slayer Gear – You’ll need better tools if you want to stop dying to flying lizards.

  • Masterwork Weapons – Stronger gear for players who’ve stuck around long enough to deserve a reward.

  • Base Building Upgrades – They’re working on ways to expand your homestead and defend it properly (finally).

  • Hardcore Mode and Creative Mode – For players who want more pain or absolutely none at all.

  • Critters and Animals – Friendly or not-so-friendly wildlife is on the way.

  • More Crafting Tiers and Higher Skill Caps – Level 49 won’t be the ceiling forever.

What They’re Trying to Fix

The roadmap also lists areas where the devs are focusing improvements. Here’s what they’ve acknowledged needs help:

  • Tutorials and Messaging – Better instructions and clearer progression.

  • Combat Systems – Hopefully, this means fewer enemies teleporting directly into your ribcage.

  • Performance – Especially on Steam Deck and lower-end PCs.

  • Multiplayer and Difficulty Balance – So co-op doesn’t feel like a cakewalk and solo doesn’t feel like punishment.

  • Lighting and Weather – Because nothing ruins the mood like a weirdly bright thunderstorm.

Final Blurb

RuneScape: Dragonwilds launched fast, but it looks like the devs are in it for the long haul. Between new regions, skills, and proper base defenses, there’s a lot of promising stuff in the works. No timeline means you'll need to be patient, but the roadmap gives enough reason to hang around—especially if you’re rooting for this chaotic survival-crafting spin-off to hit its stride.
