StarRupture Where to Find Helium

StarRupture Where to Find Helium

Helium is not something you need right away but when you reach that point, the game expects you to understand where it comes from. Helium behaves differently than early ores and cannot be treated the same way. Knowing where to look saves a lot of wasted scouting.

Where To Find Helium In StarRupture

Helium in StarRupture appears in two main forms. Small amounts show up early, while true farming only becomes possible later.

Early Helium comes from rocks and meteorites. Large scale Helium comes from geysers located in specific parts of the map.

How To Spot Helium Rocks

Helium rocks are easy to identify once you know the visual cue. They stand out more than most ores.

  • Purple gas venting from rocks

  • Found on the ground in open areas

  • Also appears embedded in meteorites

These give small amounts of Helium. This is enough to introduce the resource, but not enough to sustain production.

Helium From Meteorites

Meteorites can contain Helium alongside other ores. Look for the same purple gas effect.

This source is unreliable. Treat it as bonus income rather than a plan.

Where Helium Geysers Spawn

True Helium farming comes from geysers. These are fixed world locations.

  • Far north of the Orbital Lander

  • Far east of the Orbital Lander

  • One cluster north of large Calcium terrain

Some geysers are blocked by abandoned structures. Those cannot be used.

When You Can Actually Farm Helium

Finding Helium does not mean you can mine it yet. Helium extraction is locked behind progression.

You must level the Selenian Corporation to level 6 before Helium Extractors are available. Until then, Helium is mostly future prep.

How Helium Extraction Works

Helium uses a dedicated extractor. It does not share mechanics with early ores.

  • Place the Helium Extractor on a geyser

  • Supply power to the extractor

  • Route output using rails

Once active, Helium becomes consistent and hands off.

Should You Build Near Helium Early

You do not need a base near Helium early. There is nothing to do with it at the start.

Scout the locations, mark them mentally, and return later. Building too early just adds upkeep.

Common Helium Mistakes

Most Helium confusion comes from timing.

  • Trying to farm Helium too early

  • Expecting rock sources to scale

  • Searching near spawn for geysers

Helium is a mid game resource, not an early one.

Final Blurb

Helium in StarRupture comes from purple gas rocks early and geysers later. The real supply comes from geysers in the far north and east, unlocked after Selenian Corporation level 6. Find the spots early, but wait to build until the game actually asks for it.
