Start The Demon Bait Objective

The goal of the Demon Bait mission is to obtain the Pearl and transport it safely using the Anti Sludge vehicle.

The mission begins by tracking down an ID card that unlocks access to the Military Depot. The exact location of the card is unknown at first, so the squad must locate a Hopewell radar tower to scan for it.

Vehicles usually spawn nearby, so it helps to grab one immediately and drive toward the radar tower marker.

Locate The Radar Tower

Once you arrive at the tower, climb to the top level where a laptop terminal is located. This computer allows the team to scan the surrounding area and locate the missing ID card.

Occasionally the terminal will not activate right away. When that happens, a battery must be inserted before the system powers on. Batteries are normally found somewhere on the tower itself.

After activating the terminal, the ID card location appears on the map.

Recover The ID Card

Drive to the marked location to find the access card. The station holding it is suspended by a crane, so you must operate the control panel to lift it.

Before starting the lift process, clear the nearby zombies. The crane takes time to operate and interruptions can slow everything down.

Partway through the lift, sludge blobs will cover the crane mechanism and the control panel. Destroy them so the lift can continue.

Once the structure reaches the top, shoot the remaining blob to reveal a body trapped inside. Interact with it to obtain the ID card.

Enter The Military Depot

With the ID card secured, head to the Military Depot marked on the map. Use the card at the terminal outside the gate to unlock the entrance.

Inside the depot sits the Anti Sludge vehicle. This machine generates a protective barrier that allows players to travel safely through contaminated sludge areas.

Drive the vehicle carefully while teammates stay within the barrier radius. Heavy damage to the vehicle can make the trip much harder.

Deploy The Anti Sludge Device

After reaching the target site, remove the Anti Sludge device from the back of the vehicle.

Place the device at the field expander located in the center of the area. Once installed, the protective barrier expands and allows the squad to move freely across the contaminated zone.

This setup prepares the area for the next part of the mission.

Activate The EMP Tower

The Pearl is trapped beneath a mass of tendrils. The only way to free it is by activating the nearby EMP tower.

Before starting the sequence, prepare defenses and restock supplies. Once the EMP tower starts, enemies will attack in large numbers.

Activating the tower begins a defense phase that lasts three minutes and thirty seconds.

Midway through the timer, the generator shuts down. Instead of using the main console, players must locate and activate several switches around the area to restore power.

After the generator restarts, continue defending the position until the timer finishes.

Secure The Pearl

When the defense phase ends, return the Anti Sludge device to the vehicle.

This clears the remaining tendrils covering the Pearl. Use the vehicle winch to attach the Pearl, then begin driving away from the site.

The team must transport the bait while enemies continue to appear during the escape.

Escape The Area

As the convoy begins to leave, the Sludge creature senses the Pearl moving. The monster begins closing in on the squad.

Leon orders an emergency release to stop it temporarily. Triggering the release launches a powerful deterrent that forces the creature to retreat.

With the threat pushed back, the team escapes with the Pearl and completes the Demon Bait objective.
