Wildgate: All Changes From Beta to Launch

Written by Andrew Hammel | Wildgate

Wildgate made major changes at launch compared to the Open Beta. New systems like Infamy, Streaks, and Scrap Crates were added, while balance updates hit ships, weapons, and equipment across the board.

New Progression Systems

Infamy

Infamy is a ranked mode that tracks your wins and losses. Equip the Infamy badge to start earning points and climbing ranks. Defeats below Marauder don’t cause rank loss. Points reset monthly, but earned titles stay unlocked.

Streaks

There are three tracked streaks: Blast, Ship Blast, and Win Streak. Each gives you a permanent title if completed. You must equip the matching badge to make progress.

Milestones

Milestones are long-term goals like winning 100 matches with the Artifact. These don’t require badges and unlock titles when completed.

Scrap Crates

Scrap Crates are found in loot rooms and always give fixed rewards. Each crate grants 500 XP and one cosmetic in a set order. These are not random.

Cosmetics and Player Cards

Cosmetics Shop

A new shop lets you buy prospector outfits, ship skins, and weapon styles using credits. Credits are real-money currency and rotate on a two-week cycle.

Player Cards

You can now equip titles and badges to show your Infamy rank, streaks, and milestones. Only two badges can be active at once.

Game Mode Adjustments

The Wildgate now reveals itself to all crews once it opens. The pre-match wait in Lucky Docks was reduced from 90 seconds to 75 seconds.

Map and Hazard Updates

Ancient Vault now spawns closer to the map center. Monolith entrances spawn farther out. Cosmic Storms deal more damage to players and ships. The Reach Queen is now larger.

Ship Changes

  • All ships turn and accelerate slightly faster.

  • Privateer, Bastion, and Scout ship health was lowered.

  • Hunter health was increased to 90.

  • Secure doors and helm windows are now much stronger.

  • Swapping turrets and hardpoints now takes 3 seconds instead of 2.

  • Overload spawns fires faster.

Weapon and Equipment Balance

  • AIM-e damage and clip size reduced, lock-on tracking nerfed.

  • Beam Rifle, Surefire, and Mk2 Blaster received projectile and ammo buffs.

  • The Doctor’s healing was slightly nerfed.

  • Drill Charge damage was reduced and no longer overheats ships.

  • Blast Can had its radius increased but damage reduced.

  • Mine Layer damage reduced and cooldown raised.

Loot and Hardpoint Tuning

  • Laser Ram and Mine Layer were nerfed slightly.

  • Fire Shield was adjusted to spread fires more consistently.

  • Scatter Cannon and Sniper Cannon got damage and ammo tweaks.

  • Starlance damage increased. Clamp Jet is now immune to ship explosions.

Combat System Updates

  • Respawn time is now 16 seconds, or 12 if you die on your ship.

  • Small Crew Bonus reduces respawn time and fire damage.

  • Getting hit now resets your teleport-home timer.

UI and Quality of Life

  • Clear All button added to remove “NEW” tags in menus.

  • Spectator UI improved with free-cam and player-cam toggle.

  • Probe visuals updated.

  • Dynamic FOV slider added in settings.

  • Ukrainian and Russian localization added.

  • Matchmaking now checks ship selection, latency, and voice preferences longer for better matches.

Final Blurb

Wildgate’s launch brings full progression systems, better balance, and major quality-of-life upgrades. It’s faster, more rewarding, and more stable than the Open Beta.
