At GamerBlurb, we recognize that the skills and knowledge gained in the virtual world often translate into real-world success. We are proud to offer the GamerBlurb Impact of Gaming Scholarship, a $1,000 award dedicated to students who can share how gaming has shaped their lives, their goals, and their perspectives in a positive way.

This scholarship is one way we give back to the community that inspires our work, supporting students as they turn their passion for gaming into future opportunities. We believe that the analytical thinking, collaboration, and resilience developed through gaming are valuable assets for any student pursuing higher education and beyond.

The Essay Prompt (250-500 Words)

To apply for the GamerBlurb Impact of Gaming Scholarship, please submit an essay responding to the following prompt:

“How has gaming influenced your life, your goals, or the way you see the world?”

We are looking for essays that show originality, personal insight, and a clear connection between gaming and your future path. There are no right or wrong answers. What matters most is your unique perspective and your ability to communicate it clearly.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a high school senior currently enrolled in a U.S. high school.

  • Must plan to attend a college, university, or vocational program after graduation.

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (or equivalent).

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

Application Instructions & Deadline

All applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026. The selected recipient will be announced on the GamerBlurb website and notified by email by May 15, 2026.

  • A completed essay (PDF or Word format) responding to the scholarship prompt.

  • Your name, current school, GPA, and reliable contact information (phone and email).

Award Details & Selection

The GamerBlurb Impact of Gaming Scholarship awards one recipient a $1,000 scholarship, which will be paid directly to the winner’s college, university, or vocational program for tuition or required academic expenses. The recipient will be chosen by the GamerBlurb editorial team based on the originality, clarity, and strength of their essay. All decisions are final.

Terms and Conditions

By submitting an application, you agree to allow GamerBlurb to publish your name, photo, and essay (or excerpts thereof) on our website and/or social media channels if selected as the winner. We reserve the right to verify all information. Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the recipient’s educational institution by the census date of the first semester and must be applied within one academic year following the recipient’s high school graduation. Funds not used within that period will be forfeited.

Proof of current enrollment (such as a transcript, report card, or enrollment verification letter) will be required if selected as a finalist.
