Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days isn’t the kind of game where you load up with an assault rifle and mow things down. No, this is the kind of game where you crouch in the dark with a broken pair of scissors and hope today isn’t the day your luck runs out.

Here’s a rundown of every weapon that we know of so far in teh game (we’ll update if/when we discover more as we play through the Early Access version) and what damage they can do.

Melee Weapons

These are quiet, messy, and sometimes just sad. They come in two types: sharp ones that slice, and blunt ones that bonk.

Sharp Weapons

Scissors – Weak and break almost instantly, but make almost no noise. Best used once and then mourned.

Broken Bottle – Same deal as scissors, but craftable with tape and a water bottle. It works, technically.

Scalpel – Just like the scissors but for med school dropouts. Still weak, still quiet.

Sword – Slightly tougher than the scissors, and easy to craft at a level 1 bench. If you’re desperate, it’s decent.

Hatchet – Small axe with solid damage and okay durability. First found in the locked warehouse on the tutorial map.

Tomahawk – Has the exact same stats as the hatchet, but needs a level 2 bench to craft.

Combat Knife – Fast, quiet, and actually good. Great for stealth kills, with high durability for its size.

Improvised Machete – Hits hard and has long reach. Pretty loud, but solid overall. Durability varies weirdly depending on where you find it.

Fire Axe – Huge damage, huge durability, and swings like a dump truck. Found in the fire station. Worth it if you can get it.

Blunt Weapons

Billiard Cue – Long reach, low damage, and breaks if you sneeze near it. Found in the fire department’s pool room.

Banjo – Funny to look at, bad to use. Makes a ton of noise and breaks fast.

Frying Pan – Not bad, not good. Loud during stealth kills, which kind of defeats the whole point.

Improvised Hammer – Craftable junk that barely outperforms a rusty spoon. You’ll probably skip it.

Electric Guitar – Shiny and fun, but bad. Only swings once and makes so much noise it may as well be a concert.

Baseball Bat – Classic choice. Decent range, damage, and noise. One of the better early-game options.

Truncheon – Solid blunt weapon. A little weaker than a hatchet but easier to find. Makes a good backup.

Nailed Bat – A baseball bat with attitude. High damage and decent durability. Just loud enough to ruin your day if you’re not careful.

Pipe Wrench – Hits hard and lasts long, but it’s slow and tends to knock zombies out of your attack range. Good if you’re patient.

Ranged Weapons

Loud and risky, but sometimes you just need to stop playing nice.

Pistol (Defender D9) – Has 7 bullets. Makes some noise, but not enough to alert the whole map. Feels safe until you miss.

Revolver (Hammerhead 357) – Has 4 bullets. Louder than the pistol, but works great when you’ve given up on being subtle.

Final Blurb

Most of the weapons here feel like they were grabbed from a garage sale, and honestly, that’s the charm. They’re weird, clunky, and break way too fast. But if you use them right, they’ll keep you alive long enough to mess things up another day. Just don’t count on the banjo. That one’s on you.
