Analysis: Hawkeye Nerf Season 1 Patch for Marvel Rivals

Hawkeye got a few nerfs in Marvel Rivals that make him less powerful at long range and reduce his overall damage. Here’s a quick rundown of their changes after the Season 1 patch in January 2025.

What Changed?

  1. The spread angle between his Blast Arrows was reduced, meaning they hit a smaller area.

  2. The distance to trigger his Archer’s Focus passive was lowered from 60 meters to 40 meters, so it only activates when enemies are closer.

  3. The maximum extra damage he can deal with his passive went down from 80 to 70.

Impact of the Nerf

  1. Smaller Blast Arrow Area
With a smaller spread angle, Hawkeye’s Blast Arrows cover less ground, making it harder to hit multiple enemies at once.

  2. Shorter Passive Range
Since his passive now triggers at a shorter distance, Hawkeye players will need to get closer to enemies to get the bonus, which increases the risk of getting attacked.

  3. Lower Damage Potential
The reduced max damage from Archer’s Focus means Hawkeye can’t deal as much burst damage as before, especially at long range.

Our Thoughts

This nerf makes Hawkeye less effective from long range and lowers his total damage. Players will need to get closer and aim more carefully to get the most out of his abilities. While still a strong ranged attacker, Hawkeye is now a bit more balanced.
