Ashes of Creation Mailbox Location Guide
Mailboxes do exist in Ashes of Creation, but most new players miss them early on. They’re tied to nodes, not random spots in the open world, and right now they serve a smaller purpose while the full mail system continues to roll out.
Where to Find a Mailbox
Mailboxes show up in developed settlements once a node reaches a certain stage. You’ll usually find them close to city services like storage, market boards, or crafting stations. Early access players have spotted them in main hubs such as Lionhold and other mid-tier nodes.
If your town feels too small or you can’t find one near key buildings, that usually means the node hasn’t advanced enough yet. Low-stage areas don’t have functioning mail access yet.
What Mailboxes Currently Do
Right now, mailboxes mostly handle system messages, item deliveries, and cosmetic rewards. They let you receive items tied to your account or event participation. You can’t use them to send raw materials or gear to other players yet. That feature is planned for later stages of development.
The mail UI opens when you interact with the mailbox NPC or icon, showing any messages or items waiting to be claimed. Once you claim them, the mail disappears.
Known Mailbox Issues
Some mailboxes can appear bugged or unresponsive. This usually happens when older mail stacks up or when the node’s services are under heavy load. Sometimes you’ll see a loading spinner or no menu at all until you relog.
A few players also reported mailboxes in functional cities that don’t open at all. This tends to be a temporary early access bug that Intrepid has already acknowledged.
Final Blurb
Mailboxes in Ashes of Creation are tied to node progression, not random map spots. You’ll find them in larger settlements near storage or trade NPCs, and for now they’re used for system mail and cosmetic rewards. The feature is expected to expand later with full item sending and more account functions as the game grows out of early access.
