The Vitality tree in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is for those who enjoy not dying (and I think that’s just about all of us). If you want to bleed less, heal faster, or sprint like a medieval track star, these perks will keep you in fighting shape, and if you pick the right ones, you’ll spend less time bandaging wounds and more time actually winning fights.

Here’s a quick guide and list of the best Vitality perks in KCD2.

Best Vitality Perks to Get First

1. Thick-Blooded (Level 6)

  • Why? Because bleeding out in the middle of a fight is so inconvenient.

  • Effect: You bleed slower when wounded.

  • Verdict: In the early game, enemies will cut you open like a roast chicken. Later, with good armor, this is less of an issue—but for those first few hours, it’s a lifesaver.

2. Well-Dressed (Level 10)

  • Why? Because people are shallow.

  • Effect: Your clothes and body get dirty 20% slower. Using a tub removes all dirt instantly.

  • Verdict: Want better prices and friendlier NPCs? Stay clean. Apparently, medieval folks didn’t appreciate being negotiated with by someone who looks (and smells) like they just crawled out of a swamp.

3. Revenant (Level 14)

  • Why? Free health regeneration is never a bad thing.

  • Effect: Your health gradually regenerates up to 50 points.

  • Verdict: Less time chugging potions, more time looking heroic. What’s not to love?

4. Diehard (Level 16)

  • Why? Dying is for quitters.

  • Effect: If a hit would normally kill you, you survive with 25% health instead.

  • Verdict: If you like narrowly escaping death (or just making fights more dramatic), this is your perk.

Best Perks for Speed & Stamina

5. Hermes’ Haste (Level 12)

  • Why? Running is an underrated survival skill.

  • Effect: You sprint 20% faster.

  • Verdict: Whether you’re chasing down bandits or sprinting away from an angry guard, this is a solid pick.

6. Marathon Runner (Level 12)

  • Why? More running, less gasping for breath.

  • Effect: You consume stamina 20% slower while running.

  • Verdict: If you enjoy full-speed travel but don’t enjoy running out of stamina 10 feet later, this is a must.

7. Balanced Diet (Level 8)

  • Why? A rare video game perk that rewards not eating everything in sight.

  • Effect: If you don’t overeat for three days, you get 20% faster stamina regeneration and 10% more Vitality XP.

  • Verdict: A great perk, but resisting the urge to eat all the food in your inventory is the real challenge.

Bonus Perks (Situational but Useful)

8. Red Mist (Level 14)

  • Why? The ultimate “if I’m going down, I’m taking you with me” perk.

  • Effect: If your health drops below 25, you gain Strength, Agility, and Stamina bonuses.

  • Verdict: If you like fighting like a cornered animal, this makes you even deadlier at low health.

9. Next to Godliness (Level 10)

  • Why? Taking baths is good for you. Who knew?

  • Effect:

    • Using a tub or pier heals 10 health.

    • If you go to bed clean, you heal 25% faster.

  • Verdict: If you like staying clean and getting free health, this is a nice bonus.

10. Never Surrender (Level 18)

  • Why? Because getting hit hurts less when you're stubborn.

  • Effect: If your health drops below 25, you gain an armor bonus.

  • Verdict: Not dying is always a good strategy.

Final Verdict: Best Vitality Build

If you want to be as tough as possible, go for:

  1. Thick-Blooded (Bleed less, live longer)

  2. Revenant (Regenerate health for free)

  3. Diehard (Survive fatal hits like a true action hero)

  4. Never Surrender (Extra armor when things get rough)

  5. Red Mist (More power at low health)

If you like speed, grab Hermes’ Haste and Marathon Runner. If you enjoy making a good impression (or just hate looking filthy), Well-Dressed and Next to Godliness will help.

With these perks, you’ll be harder to kill, faster on your feet, and—if you choose the right ones—you won’t smell like a bandit camp while doing it.
