Blue Prince: How to Get the Basement Key

The Basement Key in Blue Prince is what separates you from the final leg of the game—and ultimately, Room 46. It’s a key item… Literally and figuratively… and the good news is you only need to find it once. The bad news? It’s in the Antechamber.
Where to Find the Basement Key
You can only find the Basement Key inside the Antechamber. It will always be there, sitting calmly on a pedestal in the middle of the room, waiting for you like it knows what it’s about.
There’s no puzzle to solve once you’re inside. The trick is getting into the Antechamber in the first place, which requires unlocking its door using three separate levers located in:
Grand Hall
Secret Garden
Greenhouse
You’ll need to draft and reach each of these rooms during a run and activate the levers inside them to unlock the Antechamber’s entrance.
What the Basement Key Unlocks
Once you have the key, it can open:
The Foundation Elevator, giving you a direct route into the basement.
The Well Door, found beneath the drained Fountain. This requires you to have drained the Fountain using the Pump Room.
Both paths will lead you into the Underground, where things get darker, weirder, and a bit more final.
Important Reminder
If you don’t use the key before the day ends, it will not carry over to the next day. That means you’ll have to go back to the Antechamber and grab it again. However, if you use the key to open one of the basement doors, that door will stay unlocked for future runs.
