Deltarune Chapter 5 Snowgrave Route Explained
Spoilers for Deltarune Chapter 5’s Snowgrave / Weird Route ahead. The Snowgrave Route does continue in Chapter 5, but not like a normal playable route. If you keep forcing Noelle to Proceed at the lake, the route ends on an “Insert Chapter 7 Side B” screen and sends you back to chapter select. As of Chapter 5, there is no normal next step you can play after that screen.
So if you are asking how to continue the Snowgrave Route in Chapter 5, the answer is: keep choosing Proceed during the lake scene until the game cuts to the Chapter 7 Side B screen. That appears to be the current endpoint of the route, not a puzzle you failed to solve.

Can You Continue Snowgrave In Chapter 5?
Yes, you can continue the Snowgrave Route in Deltarune Chapter 5, but only up to a hard stopping point.
The Chapter 5 Snowgrave route does not play like a full alternate version of the whole chapter. It starts with Kris and Noelle, moves into the lake scene, and then pushes you toward the “Insert Chapter 7 Side B” screen if you keep choosing Proceed.
That means Chapter 5 is not where the route fully pays off. It feels more like a bridge into something later. The game lets you push the route forward, then cuts you off before you can actually see where it goes next.
If you reached the Chapter 7 Side B screen, you probably did the route correctly. That screen is the current wall.
How To Continue The Route
To continue the Snowgrave Route in Chapter 5, you need to reach the lake scene with Noelle and keep choosing Proceed.
At first, you may still see Stop as an option. Keep going. The route pushes harder and harder until the choice stops feeling like a choice at all. Once Noelle and Kris are deeper in the water, the screen begins to fade and the scene becomes more unstable.
The important part is to keep selecting Proceed when the game gives you the option. If you keep forcing the route, the scene eventually cuts to the old TV-style screen telling you to insert Chapter 7 Side B.
That is the continuation. It is not a traditional boss, dungeon, or normal Dark World section. It is a route endpoint that points ahead to a future chapter.
What Insert Chapter 7 Side B Means
“Insert Chapter 7 Side B” appears to mean the Snowgrave / Weird Route is being pushed forward into a separate future route.
Side B is the important wording. Snowgrave started as the community name because of Noelle’s Chapter 2 spell, but by Chapter 5 the route is clearly bigger than one spell or one frozen Berdly moment. The game is treating it like an alternate side of the story.
That does not mean Chapter 7 is playable right now. It means Chapter 5 is pointing you there. The route appears to skip over the normal idea of simply continuing into Chapter 6, or at least it makes Chapter 7 the next clearly named destination for this path.
I would not overstate it as “confirmed Chapter 6 is skipped forever” yet. The safer read is that Chapter 5’s Snowgrave endpoint is telling you the next major answer belongs to Chapter 7 Side B.
Should You Choose Stop Or Proceed?
If you want to stay on the Snowgrave Route, choose Proceed.
Choosing Stop does not really save you once the scene is moving. The route keeps forcing the situation forward, and Noelle starts pushing Kris to continue. That is the point of the scene. The choices become less about normal player freedom and more about whether you keep forcing the route past the line.
If your goal is to see the Chapter 5 Snowgrave endpoint, keep choosing Proceed until the game cuts away.
If you are trying to see alternate outcomes, then stopping or refusing to choose during the drowning section can lead to different Chapter 5 behavior. But that is not the clean “continue Snowgrave to Side B” path.
What Happens If You Stop Choosing
If you stop choosing once Kris and Noelle are submerged, the route appears to break away from the Chapter 7 Side B endpoint.
Instead of reaching the Side B screen, the game can return you to an altered version of the normal Chapter 5 path. Noelle is still affected, and the chapter is not completely normal, but it does not seem to be the same as successfully pushing the Snowgrave route to the Chapter 7 prompt.
This is why people are arguing over whether that outcome is an aborted Snowgrave route, a failed Weird Route, or a separate alternate branch. The game itself makes it feel strange because it does not behave like a simple “you failed, back to normal” reset.
For a guide, though, the practical answer is easy: if you want the Snowgrave continuation screen, do not wait. Keep choosing Proceed.
Did You Mess Up Your Save?
If your file kicks you back to chapter select after “Insert Chapter 7 Side B,” you probably did not mess up.
That is what the route currently does. It is supposed to feel abrupt and uncomfortable. The whole point is that you pushed the route somewhere the current chapter does not let you play normally.
If your save looks strange, disappears from the normal flow, or does not behave like a regular completed chapter file, that fits the way this route is being presented. It is not a normal Chapter 5 completion path.
The only real mistake would be assuming there is another secret playable area after the Side B screen right now. As far as current Chapter 5 routing goes, that screen is the stop sign.
What You Miss On This Route
The Snowgrave Route changes what Chapter 5 gives you access to.
Because this route does not play like the normal Chapter 5 path, you should not expect to clean up the same recruit list, optional rewards, or secret boss content on this file. If you want a normal completion run, use a separate save and follow the standard chapter route.
For normal completion cleanup, our Deltarune Chapter 5 all recruits list covers the recruitable enemies you will be dealing with outside the Weird Route.
The same goes for optional rewards. If you are chasing Pink Coins, the Shadow Crystal, or Mad Mew Mew, do that on a normal Chapter 5 file. The Deltarune Chapter 5 Shadow Crystal guide is for that normal optional route, not the Snowgrave endpoint.
Is Snowgrave Locked Until Chapter 7?
For now, yes, that is the simplest way to think about it.
The Chapter 5 Snowgrave Route continues until the game tells you to insert Chapter 7 Side B. Since Chapter 7 is not playable from that endpoint right now, there is nothing else to “solve” after the screen appears.
That could change when future chapters release, and the exact way Side B will work is still not confirmed. The game may load a special file, read hidden completion data, skip ahead, branch Chapter 7, or do something stranger. We do not know yet.
What we do know is that Chapter 5 does not currently give you a full playable Snowgrave continuation beyond the Side B prompt.
So the best answer is this: keep choosing Proceed to continue the Chapter 5 Snowgrave Route, reach the Insert Chapter 7 Side B screen, and then stop. If you got kicked back to chapter select, you are not missing a secret button. You reached the route’s current endpoint.
