If you're wondering what happens when you spend exactly 1225 points on the gumball machine or what items you can get from it in Deltarune Chapter 3, we’re here to help!

This one’s deliberate, creepy, and very tied to the game’s lore. And yeh, it plays right into the mystery of the number 1225... which also just happens to be December 25th.

How the Gumball Machine Works

There are two prize types: common items and gold items.

  • Gold prizes are limited. Once you pull all the gold ones, they’re gone forever. The machine will even say “no more gold” when they’re gone.

  • Common prizes loop infinitely, mostly giving junk like TV Slop or point payouts.

You can keep feeding the machine by farming minigames or converting leftover points at the backstage machine.

Once you put in exactly 1225 points, the machine disappears permanently (read more about it below the item list). It triggers a strange red-room event involving what seems to be a guitar pick and/or possibly a shadow crystal, hinting heavily at Dess, Christmas, and even a missing hand.

Gumball Machine Item List

This includes both standard and gold prize pulls (credit to Reddit user u/theSmallestSalad for helping uncover a lot of these with 60+ spins):

Gold Prizes (One-time only):

  • ReviveMint

  • BlueRibbon

  • TensionMax

  • ExecBuffet

  • TennaTie

Common Prizes:

  • 50 POINTs

  • 100 POINTs

  • 101 POINTs

  • 200 POINTs

  • TV Slop

  • TV Dinner

  • Glowshard (can appear multiple times)

  • Dog Dollar

  • Fortune Slips (weird messages, no clear function)

  • GingerGuard

  • Lancer (temporary key item)

  • Deluxe Dinner

You sometimes also get fortunes. Examples of fortune messages:

  • “Looks like a dog slobbered on it”

  • “Two puzzles are connected…”

  • “Don’t let your guard down. That chair is going to kick your ass”

  • “The aqua spirits trapped in the coolers are beautiful, and recyclable”

What the 1225 Number Actually Does

Spending exactly 1225 points causes the machine to vanish permanently once you go through.

You’ll see a cryptic and somewhat unsettling scene with heavy connections to Dess, glass picks, and a disappearing hand. It is worth noting that the number 1225 probably ties to the Holiday family’s obsession with Christmas, appears in the guitar’s hidden code, and may even be the same number used for the locked bunker.

Once you do it, the machine is gone from that save file. Points are refunded, but no more prizes.

Should You Use 1225 Points?

Only after you’ve pulled every gold item you want. If you have, then yes.

This is clearly a one-time lore secret, not a reward path. Don’t throw away your chance at the Glowshard or Tenna Tie just to see some creepy dialogue.

Deltarune Gumball Machine 1225 Video Example

We don’t do video content, but here is some gameplay by Silver on YouTube showing exactly what happens when you spend 1225 points at the gumball machine in Deltarune Chapter 3 (if you wanna watch the secret in action).

Final Blurb

The gumball machine 1225 points interaction in Deltarune Chapter 3 is one of the game’s biggest Easter eggs. If you care about lore, Dess, or secret endings, it’s a must-see.

However, make sure you clear the gold prizes first, because once it’s gone it’s gone for good.
