Deltarune Titan Fight Guide (Chapter 4 Final Boss)
Written by Aarav Agarwal
The Titan in Chapter 4 doesn’t just hit hard... it stays hard, unless you play around its TP mechanic. If you try to go all-in with raw attacks or defense, it’ll outlast you every time.
Once you understand how to crack its shield and manage the pacing, it becomes way more doable (dare I say even fair) if you squint hard enough. Here are some tips to help you fight the titan.
Note: We’ve included a video with gameplay toward the bottom of the article.
Learn to Brighten Before You Fight In
Use Kris’s Brighten ACT Early
One of the first things you should do every attempt is Brighten the SOUL using Kris’s 4% TP move. This makes enemy bullets give off more TP and makes their patterns a little easier to handle.
Don’t rush damage early. Your first goal is to safely farm TP.
The Magic TP Number: 80%
Once you hit 80 TP, you can trigger the shield-break ACT. You only need Kris alive to do this, so if others are hurting, have them heal or defend.
After the shield drops, everyone should go on offense, or heal as needed to prep for the next loop.
Fight Like It’s a Rhythm Game
Open With Defense
Start the battle by defending with your whole team. It’ll ease you into the attack patterns and give you some free TP to kick off the first Brighten.
Then it’s all about looping: Brighten... survive... get to 80%... break the shield... attack... repeat.
Don’t Block Too Much
It feels safe, but spamming defense doesn't get you anywhere here. You need TP gain to progress. Blocking alone won’t get you past the armor.
Stay in the Middle
When the hands and mouths start swiping from the edges, the safest place is near the middle of the screen. This gives you more time to dodge from both sides.
Gear and Help You Might Have Missed
Don’t Ignore Weapons
If you haven’t upgraded anyone’s weapons yet, this is the fight where that bites back. Try backtracking to Gerson’s shop if you can, or equip any special weapons you found in earlier chapters.
Bonus: If you beat the Knight in Chapter 3, Kris gets a weapon that shreds Titan’s HP.
Hidden Healing Items
After you die and choose Continue, walk backward before going back in. You’ll find a guy near a box handing out Rhapsodas, a special healing drink.
The more times you die, the more drinks he gives you.
Yes, Toby planned for your suffering.
Don’t Panic When the Field Shrinks
During zone decay phases, move quickly between safe spots. This mechanic is supposed to pressure you, not trap you... unless you stop thinking.
Bonus: Video Gameplay
We don’t make video content, but if you want to see the titan fight in action to help you understand the mechanics, we recommend this video by Dem on YouTube.
Final Blurb
The Titan fight is where Deltarune finally slaps your hand and tells you to stop mashing. It’s a puzzle wrapped in bullet hell wrapped in a bruiser boss.
But if you focus on building TP the right way, keep your SOUL Bright, and crack the armor as soon as you can, it becomes a game of timing, not pain. Still hard, but beatable without a tantrum.
Unless your inventory is full of TV dinners. Then... good luck.
FAQ
Q: What ACT do I use to beat the Titan’s shield?
Use Kris’s Brighten ACT to gather TP, then trigger the weaken ACT at 80 TP.
Q: Can I beat the Titan without buying new weapons?
Yes, but it’ll be a grind. Weapons from Chapter 3 help a lot, especially Kris’s Knight sword.
Q: How do I get Rhapsoda drinks?
After you die, walk backward from the checkpoint. A vendor gives you one per death.
Q: Do I need to defeat the Titan to continue the story?
Yes. There’s no spare option here. You’ve got to break it.
Q: What’s the safest strategy to start the fight?
Defend on the first turn, then start Brightening every round to build TP safely.
