Elden Ring Nightreign How to Play Solo

You can play Elden Ring Nightreign solo at any time by switching the expedition setting to Single Player from the Roundtable Hold menu.
Everything you earn in solo still carries over, and while enemy health scales down, the challenge definitely doesn't disappear.
Here’s how to do it and what changes when you go it alone.
How to Set Nightreign to Solo Mode
Use the Roundtable Menu
Start at Roundtable Hold. When you interact with the main table, you’ll first see the Expeditions screen. Switch over to the Matchmaking Settings tab.
At the bottom of this menu, you’ll see Expedition Type with two options:
Multiplayer – standard three-player runs
Single Player – play solo, no randoms, no teammates
Select Single Player, and you’re set. You can launch any expedition you’ve unlocked and go it alone. This setting stays active until you change it back to Multiplayer.
It uses the same save file, so all items, characters, and Murk carry over between modes.
And no, there’s no duo mode. It’s either solo or three.
What Changes in Solo Play?
Enemy Health Gets Scaled
Enemies have less health when you're solo. This helps even out the lack of team damage. Their attack power stays the same, so you’ll still get wrecked if you’re not careful.
This includes bosses, but some still hit like trucks or show up in pairs. Yes, even some Nightlords do this.
No Revives... Almost
In multiplayer, teammates can pick you up. When solo, you’re on your own—except for one item.
When you play solo, some merchants in Limveld will offer a special item called Wending Grace. It gives you a one-time revive if you go down mid-run.
Wending Grace is only available in solo mode. If you're in a group, it won’t show up.
Progress Is Fully Shared
Everything you do solo counts. Murk, loot, character XP, and unlocked paths all stick with you and work when you switch back to multiplayer. That makes solo a solid option for farming or testing new characters.
Final Blurb
Solo play in Nightreign is simple to activate and tough to master. The enemies hit just as hard, you don’t get backup, and it’s all on you.
But if you want to test your builds or just avoid matchmaking, it’s a great way to explore Limveld at your own pace.
