What Acid Is Used For
Acid is mainly used to:
Destroy green acid-sensitive walls
Clear certain blocked tunnels or shrines
Unlock hidden areas and Orange Goo spots
If you’ve seen a cracked wall covered in green slime, that’s acid territory. You won’t break through without Acid Bombs.
How to Get Acid Bombs
You’ll need the Acid Bomb upgrade to start using acid properly.
To unlock it:
Progress through the story until you reach Quasadron IX
Scan and capture a creature called the Meltpuff (usually found in fungal biomes)
Return to base and craft the Acid Bomb Dispenser using the 3D printer
After this, you’ll be able to pick up Acid Bombs from special plants found around the planets, especially in Savannah Lake and Caves of Miranyth.
How to Use Acid Bombs
Once equipped:
Walk up to an Acid Bomb plant and grab a bomb
Hold the throw button to aim
Toss it at green-stained rocks, walls, or tunnel entries
If done right, the structure will dissolve after a few seconds, unlocking the path forward.
Where Acid Is Required
Here are some known acid-specific spots:
Pillars of Turpitude: One Orange Goo is locked behind an acid wall
Caves of Miranyth: Hidden loot is sealed behind acid-sensitive rocks
Certain shrine entrances: Some shrines require acid to enter or complete
Late-game shortcuts: These sometimes rely on acid bombs instead of brute force or lava
Final Blurb
From Orange Goo to hidden paths, Acid Bombs open up major parts of the world. Just remember: no acid dispenser, no progress. So grab it early, and melt your way to everything the game’s been hiding.
