How Many Levels Are in PEAK the Game?

The game PEAK has 4 major levels, or biomes/mountains, and a 5th final level called the “Kiln”. Each level gets harder the higher you go, with rougher terrain, stronger weather, and fewer safe spots.

The twist is that the mountain changes every 24 hours, so while the number of levels & biomes stays the same, the order never does. No two climbs are ever the same when things switch up... but the pain is consistent.

Note: we have linked guides to each level down below under the Biome Tips section.

What Counts as a "Level"

The 5 Levels

PEAK always includes the same four biomes in this order:

  • Shore biome

You start here, usually a beach or grassy area with minimal threats

  • Tropics biome

Forest vines, poisonous plants, and new movement mechanics

  • Alpine biome

Snow, freezing wind, fewer food items, and stamina drain

  • Caldera

Lava hazards, less climbing, more timing and running

  • Kiln

This is a lava section as well, and when you beat if you beat the game (until the new map comes).

Each one is its own level, essentially stacked vertically on the mountain or island. You complete one to reach the next.

Climbing tools, injuries, hunger, and stamina become more important the higher you go. And if you’re playing solo, there are no checkpoints.

Fall too far and you’re back to the beginning.

Levels Change Daily

New Map Layout Every 24 Hours

The whole map and levels reshuffle daily, similar to generation in how Minecraft worlds work. The biomes always stay in the same order, but:

  • Pathways can change

  • Loot placement varies

  • Hazards like jellyfish, lava, or frost patches might be in different spots

  • Weather effects like storms or fog may hit at new points

One day might have friendly bridges across gaps, the next might leave you jumping over lava with two food bars and a sprained ankle.

What Happens at the End of the Map

Yes, There’s a Final Level

The final biome always leads to the top of the mountain/volcano, which marks the end of the run. This is your goal every time.

If you make it there, you’ll find one last legendary reward, a safe spot to rest, and the end of your current climb.

If you fall? Well... maybe tomorrow’s mountain will be nicer.

Biome Tips

Shore (First Level)

  • Start here every run

  • Easy terrain, plenty of luggage and items

  • Avoid jellyfish and poison plants

  • Learn movement, stamina use, and looting

  • You’ll usually find Bing Bong, a Bugle, or a Backpack early on

See our full guide on the Shore level here.

Tropics (Second Level)

  • Vines let you cross large gaps

  • Explosive bushes appear

  • More poisonous plants

  • Mushrooms spawn with mixed effects

  • Resource management starts to matter more here

See our full guide on the Tropics level here.

Alpine (Third Level)

  • Freezing terrain and snowstorms

  • Heat packs become essential

  • Very little food spawns

  • Dangerous ice spikes and slippery ledges

  • Capybaras in hot springs can appear for an achievement

See our full guide on the Alpine level here.

Caldera or Kiln (Fourth & Fifth Level)

  • Lava replaces snow

  • Rising/falling lava adds pressure

  • Minimal vertical climbing... more sprinting across burning terrain

  • Near the end, you’ll climb into the volcano itself

  • The Kiln is the final stretch, requiring one last stamina-heavy climb

See our full guide on the Caldera level here, and our full guide on the Kiln level here.

Final Blurb

PEAK always has five levels, but how you get through them changes daily. Each biome has its own threats, from jellyfish to lava, and your climb depends entirely on what tools you find and how well you manage your stamina.

Survive long enough and the top will reward you with more than just bragging rights... assuming your friends don’t let you fall off the volcano first.
