Ah, the tale of greed, two brothers, and an axe buried with a water goblin twist—classic medieval bedtime story. If you’re ready to hunt down the fabled Silver Axe and turn it into something worthy of a fight, here’s a straightforward guide (with minimal wandering through the woods).

Step 1: Talk to Zdenyek the Mouth

Zdenyek, the local storyteller, hangs out at the Tavern in Tachov. Talk to him to hear the tale and kick off your search for the Silver Axe. He’ll point you in the general direction of Rocktower Pond, which, of course, isn’t exactly where the axe is buried. This is KCD2, after all—you’re expected to do some legwork.

Step 2: Head to the North Side of Rocktower Pond

Zoom in on your map and find the wooden pier on the north side of Rocktower Pond. That’s your starting point. From here, follow these steps:

  1. Go Uphill:
Look for a path heading north, between some rocks.

  2. Find the Old Oak Tree:
Once you spot the oak tree, you’re on the right track.

  3. Pass the Big Stone:
Keep going uphill until you see a large rock. Henry will mention it, so you’ll know you’re getting close.

  4. Locate the Grave:
At the top of the hill, you’ll find a mound of dirt—this is the burial site of one of the brothers (and the axe). Time to dig.

Don’t forget to bring a shovel. No, you can’t dig with your sword.

Step 3: Dig Up the Loot

When you dig up the grave, you’ll find:

  • A broken round shield

  • A gemstone silver ring worth 200 Groschen

  • Some spoiled marigold (because why not)

  • A broken axe

The axe is what you’re here for, so grab it and prepare for the next step.

Step 4: Repair the Broken Axe

Take the broken axe to any blacksmith. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • The broken axe (obviously).

  • Some fastening material, which you can buy from the blacksmith.

Once repaired, you’ll have the Adorned Axe, a unique weapon with:

  • 91.2 Slash Damage

  • 45.5 Blunt Damage

  • 104 Defense

  • 370 Groschen Value

Not bad for digging up an old family feud.

Step 5: Optional: Wrap Up the Quest

If you’re feeling thorough, head back to Zdenyek in the Tachov Tavern and let him know you’ve solved the mystery. He might not throw a party, but it’s always satisfying to close the loop.

Bonus Tip: Dice for Easy Groschen

While you’re at the tavern, take a moment to play Dice with the locals. It’s a great way to earn some extra Groschen early in the game—unless your luck is as bad as Henry’s stamina management.

Final Thoughts

With the Silver Axe repaired and gleaming, you’re ready to slice through foes (or just show it off). Whether it’s battling Cumans or intimidating villagers, the Adorned Axe is a worthy addition to your arsenal. Just don’t let Zdenyek rope you into another quest involving cursed family heirlooms.
