The Absolver is a longsword in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and you can obtain it during the Absolver task. This quest involves stealing a sword, forging a replica, and making some choices about who gets what. Here’s how you can get your own Absolver sword.
Step-by-Step Guide to Get the Absolver Sword
1. Start the Absolver Task
Travel to Sigismund’s Camp.
Find Thomas of Kolin and talk to him.
Select the dialogue options:
“I hear you have work for me.”
“Blacksmiths always get dirty.”
“I'm in.”
This will start the Absolver task.
2. Steal the Absolver Sword
Follow the task marker to Basan’s tent inside Sigismund’s Camp.
Find the chest with the Absolver inside.
Lockpick the chest and take the Absolver longsword.
3. Forge a Replica of the Absolver
Travel to any Blacksmith in a town or settlement.
You will need the following materials to forge the Replica Absolver:
1 Deer Skin
1 Eight-Sided Sword Pommel
1 Horned Sword Guard
2 Frankfurt Steel
2 Iron
Once you have these materials, forge the Replica Absolver.
4. Choose What to Do Next
You have multiple options at this point:
Option 1: Keep the real Absolver and give the replica to Thomas.
Put the Replica Absolver in Basan’s chest to avoid suspicion.
Give Thomas the replica instead of the real one.
You keep the unique Absolver sword.
Still get Groschen as a reward.
Option 2: Give the real Absolver to Thomas.
Hand over the real Absolver to Thomas of Kolin.
Get 607.9 Groschen as a reward.
Option 3: Make two replicas.
Forge two Replica Absolvers.
Put one in Basan’s chest.
Give one to Thomas.
You keep the real Absolver.
Rewards for Completing the Absolver Task
607.9 Groschen (regardless of who you give a sword to).
Possibility to keep the Absolver sword (if you trick Thomas and Basan).
Final Tips
If your Lockpicking skill is low, consider saving before attempting to open Basan’s chest.
Keeping the real Absolver means you get a powerful sword for free.
If you don’t care about the sword, just hand it over for the money.
That’s it! Steal, forge, and decide who gets what—just make sure you don’t get caught.
