You pay taxes in Dune: Awakening by visiting a faction hub and speaking to a tax vendor NPC. Most players will do this in either Arrakeen or Harko Village, depending on your allegiance.
If you ignore your taxes for too long, the Sardaukar will eventually come clean house... literally.
Here’s how to do it step by step without getting purged.
Find the Right Village Hub
Use the Ornithopter System
You can fly to the tax payment zones in two ways:
Use your own Ornithopter if you’ve unlocked one
Or pay 2500 Solari to use the NPC Ornithopter service at any trading post
Return flights are free, so it’s only a one-way fee.
Go to One of These Villages
Arrakeen Village for Atreides players
Harko Village for Harkonnen players
Each has its own vendor who handles tax payments.
Pay at the Tax Vendor
Once you're at the right hub:
Look for a quest marker or journal entry that guides you to the vendor
Interact with the vendor to submit your spice tax
This action keeps your sub-fief (your base) protected and active.
What Happens if You Don’t Pay
Skip a payment too long and the Sardaukar will show up and wipe your base from the map. You’ll lose territory and progress. Paying taxes is not optional unless you're cool with starting over.
Final Blurb
Paying taxes in Dune: Awakening is one of the few things more brutal than the desert itself. Just head to your faction’s village, find the tax vendor, and hand over your Solari or spice.
Skip it, and the Emperor sends a cleanup crew with swords.
