If you're standing at the furnace in RuneScape: Dragonwilds wondering why your ore combo isn’t working, you’re probably just missing an ingredient or two.
Let’s break it all down nice and simple so you can start smelting like a pro.

Example: What You Need to Smelt Bronze
To smelt Bronze Ingots, you’ll need three things:
1x Tin Ore
1x Copper Ore
1x Charcoal
Once you have all three, head over to the Furnace and interact with it. Place the ingredients into the input slots, then hit “Smelt.” If it’s not working, double-check that you aren’t accidentally missing copper — it’s the most overlooked one.
Where to Find Copper Ore
Copper spawns a bit deeper into the same zone where you first found tin.
You may need a Bone Pickaxe to mine it (you’ll unlock the recipe after picking up bones and claws).
If you’re still using the Stone Pickaxe and it won’t mine copper, try upgrading.
How to Build a Furnace
If you don’t have a furnace yet, you’ll need Vault Shards to unlock the recipe. Vaults are special dungeon-like locations where you can loot shards and rare materials. Keep exploring and clearing these if you haven’t found one yet.
Why You Want Bronze Ingots
Smelting bronze unlocks the next tier of gear, giving you:
Better durability
More damage (for weapons)
Access to new crafting recipes
It’s the first step toward moving past basic survival gear.
Final Blurb
Smelting in Dragonwilds is pretty straightforward once you know how it works. Get some copper and tin, and fire up the furnace. Just be ready to dodge a random dragon firebomb while you’re trying to craft. Wouldn’t be Dragonwilds without a little chaos.
