How to Start Lies of P Overture DLC
Written by Andrew Hammel
If you're trying to jump into Lies of P: Overture and can't figure out how to start, here’s the short version: finish the main story and repair the Hotel Stargazer in Chapter 9.
That unlocks the new DLC area called the Forgotten Time.
Once those conditions are met, you’ll be able to access all the new content, including boss rematches, difficulty settings, and more.
How to Unlock the Overture DLC
Finish the Main Game First
You must reach Chapter 9 and repair the Hotel Stargazer. If you haven’t done that yet, the DLC won’t show up.
Enter the Forgotten Time
Once the Hotel Stargazer is fixed, you’ll get the option to enter the Forgotten Time. This is the starting point for all the Overture content.
You Must Own the DLC
Just in case... yes, the Overture DLC must be purchased separately. It won’t magically appear unless you own it.
What’s New in the Overture DLC
Boss Rematch System
You can now re-fight past bosses in two ways:
Battle Memories – Standard rematches of bosses you already beat.
Death March – A much harder version where you fight 3+ bosses in a row with limited healing and HP.
To use this system, you’ll need to finish the main game and get an ending. Then access the Boss Rematch through the Hotel Stargazer.
Difficulty Options
You can now choose between three difficulty levels at any time. It’s located in:
Settings → Gameplay → Difficulty
Also, if you’re on your 4th+ playthrough, difficulty has been bumped up overall.
New Character: Lea
A new NPC, Lea the Legendary Stalker, is introduced as part of the Overture story. You'll join her on a new mission that explores Krat's past and some of the fallout before the city’s collapse.
Major Patch Features That Affect the DLC
You can now lock on to enemies automatically when attacking.
“Dash” and “Dodge” can be split onto separate buttons.
Held Ergo can be spent directly in the level-up and shop menus.
The P-Organ system now lets you equip or remove Quartz piece-by-piece.
“Quick Wishstone Use” is now default, and the new replacement reduces damage briefly when using Wishstones.
You can now level up outside the hotel using any Stargazer, or still talk to Sophia as usual.
Things to Keep in Mind
If your controls feel weird, it’s not just you. All button/key settings were reset with this patch.
Blue butterflies now appear around Sophia when she has something important to say.
The Gramophone system has shuffle, repeat, and playlist options now, if you want to vibe while upgrading.
Weapons, Legion Arms, and UI changes also got major usability tweaks... so poke around.
Final Blurb
The Lies of P: Overture DLC doesn’t wait around. As long as you’ve finished the story and repaired the Hotel Stargazer, you’ll get immediate access to the new content.
From boss gauntlets to harder difficulties, it’s everything we wanted... and probably a little more punishment than we asked for.
If you were itching for a reason to revisit Krat, this is it.
