Mounts in Fantasy Life i are just for fun, and don’t really provide speed boosts or stat bonuses. But if you want to show off your ride, here’s how to use them and swap between them without getting confused.
How to Unlock and Equip a Mount
You’ll get your first mount early on... it’s a camel, and yes, it’s exactly as dramatic as it sounds.
From there, you can unlock more mounts by doing quests, buying them from shops, crafting them, or knocking them out of certain enemies. Some are even tied to Deluxe versions of the game.
Once you have more than one, you can switch between them using something called the Weird Pad.
How to Ride Your Mount
Once your mount is equipped, just press the correct button based on your platform:
Switch: L
PC: Z
Xbox: LB
PlayStation: L1
That’s it. You’ll instantly hop on and start cruising around. You don’t need to aim at the mount or press anything else.
How to Change Mounts
At any Weird Pad, open the Mounts menu. You’ll see all the ones you’ve unlocked.
Just select the one you want to ride and it’ll become your active mount. This is the one that appears when you press the mount button out in the world.
There’s no penalty for switching... so go ahead and swap based on mood, weather, or outfit.
Do Mounts Do Anything?
Nope. Every mount moves at the same speed and handles the same way.
They’re just cosmetic, so feel free to chase down enemies on a turtle or ride a Napdragon into town if you’re feeling bold. Nobody’s stopping you.
Final Blurb & FAQ
Mounts are all about style in Fantasy Life i. They don’t make you faster or stronger, but they absolutely make you look cooler.
Collect your favorites and switch them up whenever the mood strikes.
