What’s the Deal?
Right now, basements are not available in Build Mode. If you’re playing the Early Access version, you won’t find any tools to dig below ground.
You can see hints that the system is coming—like placeholder layouts and UI space—but no actual way to build a basement just yet. Basically, the bones are there, the basement is not.
Will Basements Be Customizable?
Probably. Most buildable spaces in inZOI have some level of customization, and basements will likely follow the same pattern. That means you’ll probably be able to paint the walls, clutter it with trash, or turn it into something totally unhinged. But for now, it’s just speculation.
Final Blurb
No basements... yet. inZOI is still growing, and the devs seem to be laying the groundwork for underground building in future updates. So if you’ve been planning to live underground like a raccoon with good taste, you’ll just have to wait a little longer. For now, stick to rooftops.
