So, you’ve joined forces with the Blades, got Martin safely to Cloud Ruler Temple, and now it’s time to deal with a friendly little cult called the Mythic Dawn. Welcome to The Path of Dawn quest—where reading books can get you stabbed.
Meet Baurus at Luther Broad’s Boarding House
Head to the Elven Gardens District in the Imperial City and find Luther Broad’s Boarding House. Sit next to Baurus at the bar and let him handle his secret-agent routine. When a shady guy named Astav Wirich follows him into the basement, tag along. Astav will reveal he's a Mythic Dawn agent (because subtlety isn’t their thing) and attack you. Take him out and loot Mythic Dawn Commentaries 1 from his body.
Talk to Baurus after the fight, and he’ll send you to the Arcane University to meet Tar-Meena.
Get Mythic Dawn Book 2
Find Tar-Meena lounging at the Arcane University. Show her the book, and she’ll casually hand over Commentaries 2—because dangerous cult literature is just lying around, apparently. She’ll then point you to the First Edition Bookstore in the Market District for the next volume.
Get Mythic Dawn Book 3
At First Edition, chat with Phintias, who’ll tell you that Commentaries 3 is already sold to a man named Gwinas. Here’s how you can still get it:
Pickpocket Gwinas after he picks up the book.
Convince Gwinas that joining a murder cult is a bad idea, and he’ll hand it over.
Bribe or charm Phintias to sell you the book before Gwinas arrives.
Or, if you're feeling sneaky, steal it from the shop’s chest when Phintias isn’t watching.
No matter how you get it, talk to Gwinas after. He’ll give you a note about a secret meeting with a Mythic Dawn sponsor.
Get Mythic Dawn Book 4
Return to Baurus at the Boarding House. He’ll suggest crashing that secret meeting in the Sunken Sewers (because where else would a cult hang out?). Follow him through the sewers—expect a few goblins and mudcrabs along the way.
When you reach the meeting spot, either let Baurus handle the talking or take the seat yourself. Either way, things go south fast, and you’ll have to fight Raven Camoran and some Mythic Dawn agents. Loot Commentaries 4 and the Sewer Key from Raven's body to make your escape.
Solve the Mythic Dawn Book Puzzle
With all four books in hand, it’s puzzle time. You could wait for Tar-Meena to figure it out, but why not show off your reading skills?
Open each book and note the large letters at the start of paragraphs.
These letters spell out:
GREEN EMPEROR WAY WHERE THE TOWER TOUCHES MIDDAY SUN
Head to Green Emperor Way (the area around the Imperial Palace). Find the Tomb of Prince Camarril on the west side and wait until 12 PM. A glowing red symbol will appear—interact with it to finish the quest.
Quest Rewards
Completing The Path of Dawn starts the next quest: Dagon Shrine.
Visit Cloud Ruler Temple after, and Baurus will give you free skill boosts in Blade, Block, and Heavy Armor.
