Oblivion Remastered: How to Start the Knights of the Nine Quest

If you're wandering around Anvil and notice things are... well, worse than usual, you've probably stumbled into the start of the Knights of the Nine questline. Here's how to get things rolling without getting too distracted by all the doom and gloom.
Find the Prophet (Yes, The "Madman")
After the attack on the Chapel of Dibella in Anvil, you’ll hear the guards talking about how grim things are inside. They also mention a so-called mad prophet preaching across the street. Turns out, he's not just rambling for fun.
Head over to the front of the ruined chapel.
You'll spot the Prophet shouting about ancient curses and divine relics. Classic RPG behavior.
Talk to him, and he'll go on about Umaril the Unfeathered—some ancient evil making a comeback like it’s a reunion tour no one asked for.
Accept the Quest for the Crusader’s Relics
If you show even a hint of bravery (or recklessness), the Prophet will suggest you take up the mantle of a holy knight. But, of course, it’s not as easy as grabbing a sword and calling yourself a hero.
He’ll tell you about the Pilgrim’s Way.
Your task? Visit the Wayshrines of the Nine Divines scattered across Cyrodiil.
Pray at each shrine to prove you're worthy in the eyes of the gods. Apparently, they like a good walking tour.
What Happens Next?
Once you’ve prayed at all the shrines, the gods will decide if you’re worthy to start collecting the legendary Crusader’s Relics—a set of armor and weapons powerful enough to take on Umaril.
But fair warning: If you’re the type who "accidentally" steals a thing or two, the gods might not be too impressed. Keep your Infamy low or you'll find yourself on a very different kind of pilgrimage.
Final Blurb
And there you have it — from listening to a street preacher to becoming the gods' chosen champion. All it takes is a bit of faith, a lot of walking, and trying not to get eaten by wolves on the way to a shrine. Good luck, future holy warrior. You're going to need it.
