OSRS Grid Master Fishing Training Guide | Fastest Fishing XP
Old School RuneScape (OSRS)

Fishing in Grid Master is one of the easiest 99s in the game. With relic links, free food setups, and AFK options like Tempoross, it’s basically free XP once you know the route.

How to Train Fishing in Grid Master

Start by unlocking Fishing early with either the Gatherer or Craftsman relic.

Train Fishing to level 35 first so you can access Tempoross. That’s the real turning point for both XP and loot. The skill trains fast even without relic boosts, especially when paired with Agility or Strength.

Best Fishing Training Methods

Small Net and Bait Fishing (1–20)

Lumbridge River or Draynor Village are the easiest openers. Use a small net or bait rod. Quick levels, simple setup, and an easy jump to fly fishing afterward.

Fly Fishing at Barbarian Village (20–35)

Use a fly rod and feathers for fast XP. It’s efficient and still gives Strength or Agility XP if linked. Once you hit 35, stop here and move straight to Tempoross.

Tempoross (35+)

Tempoross is the main method for Grid Master. XP scales with event boosts and relic multipliers, and you’ll also earn fishing supply rewards for later grinds.

Bring a Banker’s Note to deposit instantly and fish endlessly. You can train Cooking on the side by buying raw fish from Port Piscarilius. Once you unlock the Corrupted Shark, you’ll have infinite food anyway, making Cooking free progress.

Fishing Guild (68+)

After Tempoross, you can move to the Fishing Guild for stable XP and convenient banking. Use a harpoon or rod for shark, tuna, or swordfish. Pair this with the Craftsman relic to auto-note catches and cook for double gains.

Best Relic and Link Combos

  • Link Fishing with Agility or Strength for hybrid XP

  • Gatherer relic for faster XP scaling

  • Craftsman relic for Cooking synergy and noted catches

  • Banker’s Note relic for infinite inventory and AFK ease

Avoid linking Runecraft, it has no synergy here.

Recommended Routes

Early: Lumbridge → Draynor → Barbarian Village
Midgame: Tempoross at 35+
Late Game: Fishing Guild or long AFK Barbarian Fishing

Each stage syncs with relic boosts and XP lamps perfectly.

Extra Tips

  • Buy a chef’s hat in Shayzien for Cooking requirements

  • Use XP lamps only after 500 total level for better scaling

  • Use Port Piscarilius fish to train Cooking before Corrupted Shark unlock

  • Barbarian Fishing still works for chill AFK XP with relic links

Final Blurb

Fishing in Grid Master is basically free XP once you hit level 35. Tempoross turns it into steady progress, Banker’s Note removes every grindy part, and relic links make the numbers explode. Once Corrupted Shark is unlocked, you’ll never need to worry about food again.

Buy fish from Port Piscarilius to cook, or use Corrupted Shark once it’s unlocked.
