OSRS Grid Master Grimy Herbs Guide | Friendly Forager Unlock

OSRS Grid Master Grimy Herbs Guide | Friendly Forager Unlock
Old School RuneScape (OSRS)

Cleaning grimy herbs is one of the earliest and easiest ways to grab a solid relic in Grid Master. The Friendly Forager unlock gives passive Herblore XP, free herbs, and potion bonuses that make skilling smoother for the rest of the event.

How to Complete the Grimy Herb Task

The task only asks you to clean three grimy herbs. Any of these count, so you don’t need to overthink it. The fastest options are:

  • Rogue’s Purse or Snake Weed from the Karamja Jungle near Tai Bwo Wannai.

  • Grimy Guam from pickpocketing H.A.M. members on the way to the Golden God task.

  • Valencia Moss just north of Shilo Village, which also counts.

  • Grimy Guam from the Wilderness Dungeon near the Mage Arena stairs.

  • Buy a pestle and mortar and clean herbs right after picking them up to instantly complete the task.

  • Snake Weed spawns quickly after being picked, so you can gather and clean three from the same spot if you wait a moment between each respawn.

If you’re low combat level, avoid the fairy ring near Tai Bwo Wannai when going for Snake Weed. Just walk the long route instead to skip aggressive monsters.

Friendly Forager Unlock and Effects

After cleaning three herbs, you unlock Friendly Forager and receive the Forager’s Pouch. Keeping it in your inventory or equipped gives you new passive effects while skilling.

  • Gathering from Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining, or Hunting will randomly find a grimy herb.

  • The herb you find gives small Herblore XP and is limited to herbs your Herblore level plus 25 can clean.

  • There’s a 9-tick cooldown between finds, but it’s guaranteed when off cooldown.

  • The pouch works like a Herb Sack and shares storage with it, up to 30 total herbs.

You can control which herbs you get by filling every slot except the type you want, forcing the pouch to give that specific herb.

Herblore Bonuses

Friendly Forager also boosts potion-making with two powerful effects:

  • 90 percent chance to not consume secondary ingredients when making potions.

  • All potions crafted will have 4 doses instead of 3.

These stack additively with other relic effects and save a huge amount of time and materials later in the event.

Certain potion exceptions exist. Torstol ingredients are saved when making super combat or anti-venom+ potions, but not when creating divine potions or Menaphite remedies.

Efficient Forager Use

  • Use early Fishing or Mining tasks to trigger herb finds passively while leveling.

  • Clean herbs as soon as possible for small Herblore XP boosts.

  • Keep pouch space managed to farm high-tier herbs by filling the rest.

  • Combine this relic with Production Prodigy for faster potion crafting and double XP potential.

Final Blurb

The Friendly Forager relic turns passive gathering into free Herblore gains and makes potion training cheap and simple. It’s one of the best early unlocks for players planning to mix skilling and combat. You’ll want it early just for the Forager’s Pouch alone.
