Old School RuneScape (OSRS)

Meaty Aura Logist unlocks one of the most unique Sailing activities, so learning how her weather hunts work makes charting way easier once you reach the right level.

How to Start Weather Tasks

You can begin weather charting at level 57 Sailing. Find Meaty Aura Logist at any of her island spots and talk to her. She gives you a portable weather station and asks you to locate areas with no wind. Once you measure the calm point, the task completes and you get sea charting progress.

How Weather Reading Works

The portable weather station shows wind direction based on circular wind patterns around you. The reading tells you which way the center of the pattern sits. Clockwise wind and anticlockwise wind point in different directions, so you must watch the reading and move toward the center until you find a no wind tile.

Every tile gives a fresh reading. Move in the direction the station guides you. When the meter goes flat, you found the calm point. Some tasks are on land, so be ready to walk a little after docking your skiff.

Weather Navigation Tips

You must be patient with readings because the station only points you toward the middle of the wind ring. Move slowly so you do not overshoot the calm spot. Some calm points are tucked into reefs or tiny islands, so approach carefully to avoid getting stuck.

Skiffs work best because they fit through tight paths. Sloops often cannot fit into narrow reef lines around weather tiles. If the calm point or gb-proxy sits on land, dock and walk a few steps with the station still active.

Final Blurb

Meaty Aura Logist’s weather tasks look confusing at first, but once you understand how the wind circles work, finding each calm point becomes pretty fun. Carry your station, follow the readings, and move steady toward the center. The more weather tasks you chart, the easier future maps become.
