PEAK Game Frost Guide: How Frost Works and What to Do
Frost in PEAK is a stamina-draining effect that triggers when you enter fog or get caught in a Blizzard. If you do not escape or stop it, you will run out of stamina and die.
What Causes Frost in PEAK
Fog climbing up the mountain
As you play, fog rises slowly from below. If you stay in it too long, you will begin to freeze. Frost lowers your stamina over time and forces you to keep moving.
If you are stuck in the fog for too long, you will fully freeze and die.
Blizzards in the Alpine biome
In the Alpine area, short Blizzard events will also cause Frost. These storms last under a minute but still drain your stamina fast if you stay out in the open.
You do not need to be in fog during a Blizzard for Frost to trigger.
How to Stop Frost
Escape or remove the effect
To stop Frost caused by fog, climb above it. Staying ahead of the fog is the only way to avoid it.
If you want to turn off the fog entirely, choose Tenderfoot mode at the airport kiosk. This disables the fog and lets you climb without time pressure or Frost.
To stop Blizzard-based Frost, you have three options:
Use a Faerie Lantern to create a small heated area
Use a Heat Pack to cure Frost temporarily
Hide behind rocks or solid objects until the Blizzard ends
Faerie Lanterns can be found near statues. Heat Packs are random loot.
Final Blurb
Frost is not just cold... it is a ticking clock. If you move too slow or ignore the signs, it will drain you until your climb ends.
Pack a Heat Pack and watch the sky.
