PEAK Game Piton Guide: How to Get and Use Pitons
Pitons in the PEAK game let you rest, save progress, and avoid falling to your doom. They’re one of the most important tools for tough vertical climbs, especially if you’re low on stamina or climbing supplies.
Here’s how to get and use pitons properly in PEAK.
What Is a Piton in PEAK?
A piton is a metal anchor that you can stick into any surface. Once placed, it drops a 7-meter rope that acts like a hanging checkpoint.
You can grab onto the piton or its rope to rest without using stamina. If you fall, it catches you. It’s not a one-time use item either—you can pick it back up, but removing it takes a few seconds.
Where to Find Pitons
Pitons spawn in luggage, usually survival-style suitcases. You won’t always find one every run, but they’re common enough if you loot often.
If you’re climbing a tough section, always check your inventory for one before pushing forward.
How to Use Pitons
To use a piton, equip it in your hand… NOT your backpack. You can’t access backpack items while hanging.
When you're mid-climb or standing on a ledge, press the use button to stick the piton into the wall. The rope will extend about 7 meters over the next few seconds.
You can now:
Rest without using stamina
Drop down safely and climb back up
Let teammates use it as a safety point in co-op
To retrieve the piton, interact with it while standing nearby. You’ll need to let go of the rope or piton first, and the pickup takes about three seconds.
Best Uses for Pitons in PEAK
Use it mid-wall if you’re getting low on stamina
Drop one near the top of a risky climb so you don’t lose progress
Set it up before exploring below so you can climb back up
Give it to the player with the most stamina so they can lead

Final Blurb
Pitons are your best friend when the wall ahead looks brutal. Don’t waste them, but don’t hoard them either. When used right, they’ll save your run more than once.
