PGA Tour 2K25: EvoSwing Guide

PGA Tour 2K25 introduces EvoSwing, a system designed to make swinging more realistic and personalized. Doesn’t matter if you prefer Swing Stick or 3-Click Swing, EvoSwing will adapt to your style and make every shot feel a little more like the real thing (minus the frustration of actually playing golf).

How to Change Your Swing Type

Before you start swinging away, set your Swing Input:

  1. Open the Quests and Profile menu.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Controls.

  3. Change Swing Input to either Swing Stick or 3-Click Swing.

Now you’re ready to swing like a pro.

Swing Stick: How It Works

Swing Stick relies on solid timing and precision:

  1. Pull back on the swing stick (right stick on controller, mouse on PC) toward the Backswing Target.

  2. As the power indicator expands, push forward toward the Downswing Target.

  3. If you underswing, you’ll lose distance. If you overswing, you’ll add power but make the shot harder to control.

  4. Maintain smooth rhythm—swing too fast, and you’ll slice; too slow, and you’ll lose spin and distance.

A clean swing = a great shot. A rushed swing = a ball flying into the nearest bunker.

3-Click Swing: The Alternative Method

This method relies on reaction timing rather than stick movement:

  1. Press and hold the swing button (X/A/Left Click) to start. Release when you reach the desired power.

  2. When the Swing Plane meter moves, press the button again to set push/pull.

  3. When the Swing Timing meter moves, press again to set hook/slice.

Think of it like a mini rhythm game—except the only high score you’re chasing is not embarrassing yourself on the green.

EvoSwing and Shot Bias

Your swing is affected by both club selection and shot type:

Club Bias (How much your swing is influenced by mechanics)

  • Driver: 100%

  • Woods: 90%

  • Irons: 65%

  • Wedges: 50%

  • Putter: 0% (because even this game won’t let you ruin a putt with bad swing mechanics)

Shot Type Bias (How much the shot mechanics influence your swing)

  • Full Swing: 100%

  • Punch: 80%

  • Pitch: 65%

  • Flop: 50%

  • Chip & Putt: 0% (if you mess these up, that’s on you)

Tips for a Perfect EvoSwing

  • Watch the HUD: The Swing Path meter shows how much your shot will push or pull.

  • Timing is key: Too fast? Hook. Too slow? Slice. Keep it smooth.

  • Adjust club selection: Higher power clubs (like a driver) amplify small mistakes, while wedges offer more control.

Final Blurb

Whether you go with Swing Stick for full control or 3-Click Swing for precision timing, EvoSwing makes every shot feel different. Take some practice swings, find your rhythm, and enjoy the ride—because in golf, you’ll miss more shots than you make, but at least now you’ll know why.
