Once you leave the lab, a cutscene introduces Naveen, who gives you a hat and unlocks the Outfits & Looks feature. From that point, you can freely change clothes and appearance whenever you like.
To change clothes, open the pause menu with X, then press minus to access the Outfits & Looks section. It opens on the Outfits tab by default. Use L and R to scroll through available styles, press A to equip one, and confirm with plus. Your new outfit appears immediately after exiting the menu.
