RS3 Leagues Crafting Guide | Catalyst League
Written by Andrew Hammel
Crafting in RS3 Leagues is faster and more rewarding than in the main game thanks to the Catalyst League relics and boosted multipliers. With the right methods, you can skip slow training grinds and turn Crafting into one of the quickest 99s available.
This guide covers quests, gem cutting, Crafteneering, necklaces, harps, Dream of Iaia, and even the Gate of Elidinis skilling boss for high-level gains.
Best Relics for Crafting in Catalyst League
Two relics stand out for Crafting progression:
Excavator (Tier 1) – Auto cuts and banks gems while mining, making gem XP nearly effortless.
Production Master (Tier 4) – Infinite urns, portable skilling perks without stations, Seren spirits, and +6 Crafting boost.
Both relics combine to make leveling smoother while cutting down on grind.
Levels 1–16: Questing for Crafting XP
The fastest start is questing. Complete Goblin Diplomacy, Sheep Shearer, Gunnar’s Ground, and Murder Mystery. These give early Crafting XP and push you past the slowest levels.
Cowhide to leather is always an option. Kill cows, tan hides, and craft leather gloves, boots, or bodies.
Not great XP, but it lines up with early Slayer or Combat training. In Leagues, the boosted rates make it much less painful than in the main game.
Sheep Shearer already gives you a head start here. You can spin wool into balls of wool or spin flax into bowstrings. This is especially handy if you’re banking flax anyway for Fletching synergy.
Levels 9-15: Crafteneering Method
At level 9, you can start “Crafteneering” inside Dungeoneering floors.
Run complexity 6 floors.
Farm rusty coins by skilling, alching, and looting.
Buy Protomastyx hides and thread.
Craft Protoleather bodies, then sell them back to the Smuggler.
This loop gives steady XP and coins, especially early on. Upgrade your Ring of Kinship into the Artisan variant for a chance to save resources.
Levels 16–20: Cutting Common Gems
Mine and cut uncut sapphire gems from common gem rocks. This is simple, quick XP to bridge into the next tier.
Levels 20–75: Cutting Uncommon Gems
Switch to emerald, ruby, and diamond gems from uncommon gem rocks. Cutting them is efficient, and with upgraded gem bags you can extend trips. Save the gems for jewelry later.
Levels 20–75: Mining Gems with Excavator Relic
If you chose Excavator, this becomes one of the best training methods. The relic cuts and banks gems automatically.
At level 50, you can reach 180k–220k Crafting XP per hour with 4x league rates, plus around 125k Mining XP per hour on the side.
Once you unlock Staff Crafting, buying daily battlestaves from Varrock and making air or water battlestaves is both profitable and decent XP.
Not as fast as gem cutting, but it’s free money and stacks with League tasks.
Levels 22/40–75: Gold Necklaces
Crafting sapphire, emerald, and ruby necklaces is great profit and XP.
Mine gold ore at concentrated deposits.
Use signs of the porter to auto-bank.
Smelt and craft necklaces at Fort Forinthry for rested XP.
This is best if you want steady income while training Crafting.
Levels 75–99: Harps in Prifddinas
Playing harps during Ithell Voice of Seren gives consistent AFK Crafting XP. It’s slower than Dream of Iaia but very easy to sustain while multitasking.
Levels 75–99: Dream of Iaia Tannery
Send Anachronia base camp workers to gather hides.
Tier 2 command center: up to 46,800 XP per day.
Tier 3 command center: up to 50,400 XP per day.
This gives daily passive XP without active play, making it far better efficiency per time invested than harps.
Gate of Elidinis for Crafting XP
After unlocking Ode of the Devourer, you can gather moonstone fragments at the Gate of Elidinis skilling boss.
Requires 20 Cooking, 25 Agility, 86 Archaeology, 10 Slayer, 50 Construction, 75 Necromancy, 66 Magic, and 40 Prayer.
Gathering fragments gives up to 300k Crafting XP per hour at level 99.
Position at southern rocks to avoid attacks and AFK longer.
With the right survival setup, you can farm fragments safely for extended sessions.
Final Blurb
Crafting in RS3 Leagues is much smoother than in the main game. Quests and Crafteneering set up the early grind, gems and necklaces carry mid-game, and harps or Dream of Iaia finish the race to 99. For peak efficiency, use Excavator for gems and Production Master for broad crafting boosts.
