Slay The Spire 2 Byrdonis Egg Quest Guide

Slay The Spire 2 Byrdonis Egg Quest Guide

The Byrdonis Egg in Slay The Spire 2 is a Quest card that hatches into Byrd Swoop at a Rest Site. You get it from a random Event called Byrdonis Nest, and once hatched, it becomes a 0 cost Attack that deals 14 damage, or 18 when upgraded. If your deck can handle one temporary dead draw, the reward is absolutely worth it.

This is one of the earliest Quest cards you will see, and it is a strong early power spike if you play it correctly.

How To Get Byrdonis Egg

You find Byrdonis Egg in an Event room marked with a question mark on the map.

The event is called Byrdonis Nest. When it appears, you get 2 choices:

  • Eat the Egg and gain 7 Max HP

  • Take the Egg and add Byrdonis Egg to your Deck

There are no hidden penalties. If you need survivability, take the Max HP. If your deck is stable, take the Egg and start the quest.

Once added, Byrdonis Egg is Unplayable and sits in your deck until you hatch it.

How To Hatch Byrdonis Egg

To hatch it, reach a Rest Site, the campfire icon on the map.

When you arrive, you will see a Hatch option. Select it to complete the quest. Keep in mind you only get one Rest Site action, so choosing Hatch means you cannot Rest or Smith there.

After hatching, Byrdonis Egg is permanently replaced with Byrd Swoop.

Byrd Swoop Card Stats

Byrd Swoop is a Colorless Attack.

Stats:

  • Cost, 0

  • Deal 14 damage

  • Upgraded, deal 18 damage

For comparison, a basic Strike deals 6 damage for 1 Energy. Byrd Swoop is more than double that output for free. Early Act fights melt quickly with this in your deck.

It is simple, efficient, and strong.

Is Byrdonis Egg Worth Taking

Most of the time, yes.

The downside is temporary deck clutter. Until you reach a Rest Site, it is a dead draw. If you are about to fight an elite or boss and your deck is already inconsistent, you might regret adding it.

But if you can reach a Rest Site soon, the value is excellent. A 0 cost 14 damage Attack is strong in any early build.

Best Synergies For Byrd Swoop

Because Byrd Swoop costs 0, it fits perfectly into multi Attack builds.

Strong relic and build interactions include:

  • Strength scaling builds with Ironclad

  • Shiv heavy Silent builds

  • Relics that reward multiple Attacks per turn

  • Energy generation decks that want free damage

It is especially strong with Strength stacking since it scales directly with bonus damage.

Being Colorless means any character can use it. It is flexible and never locked behind a specific class.

When To Skip The Egg

Skip Byrdonis Egg if:

  • You are low HP and need the 7 Max HP immediately

  • Your deck is bloated and struggling with consistency

  • The next few nodes do not include a Rest Site

Quest cards are powerful, but timing matters. Do not sabotage your run just to chase value.

Final Blurb

Byrdonis Egg is one of the cleanest early Quest rewards in Slay The Spire 2. Take it from the Byrdonis Nest event, hatch it at a Rest Site, and enjoy a free 14 damage Attack for the rest of the run. It is simple, efficient, and scales well with Strength and multi Attack builds. Just make sure you can reach a campfire before it clogs your deck at the worst possible moment.
