How to Unlock the Demon Hunter

Step 1: Reach the Unholy Cathedral

You’ll need to have progressed far enough in Curse levels to access this area. If it’s not showing up, keep pushing through maps and increasing your Curse intensity.

Step 2: Complete the Ritual of Hate

In the Unholy Cathedral, the Ritual of Hate event will trigger. Complete the objective, which typically involves surviving waves and eliminating bosses. Once done, the Demon Hunter will unlock.

What Makes the Demon Hunter Unique

  • Class: Ranged

  • Weapon Type: Crossbows

  • Stats: High damage and cast speed, but lower health

  • Skill Types: Chaos, Shadow, Projectile, Bomb, Blast

  • Playstyle: Focuses on stacking status effects, crits, and rapid-fire area control

His Ascension Power: Demonic Binding

Once unlocked with 15,000 currency, this lets you bind demon statues mid-run. Killing enemies near them summons powerful minions, and each active demon boosts your crit damage and total damage.

You can have up to six active at once.

Unlocking His Gear

To upgrade his weapons and unlock more powerful tools:

  • Level 10: Unlocks the Hellfire Cannon

  • Level 40: Unlocks the Demonic Launcher

  • Level 70: Unlocks the Bonereaper

  • Craft all three to start upgrading them later at the Blacksmith

Final Blurb

The Demon Hunter isn’t a starter pick, but once you finish the Ritual of Hate, you get access to one of the most aggressive ranged characters in the game.

Stack your crits and summon an army of demons to melt the screen.
