StarRupture Ignitium Explained

StarRupture Ignitium Explained

Ignitium is a rare surface resource in StarRupture that only exists during a short window after a rupture. It is defined by timing, not location, which is why players often think it is bugged or inconsistent.

What Ignitium Is

Ignitium is a glowing orange material that appears on burned ground after a rupture event. It is not an ore deposit and it is not mined with machines. It is collected directly from the surface.

Ignitium does not exist during normal world conditions. If there is no recent rupture, Ignitium cannot appear at all.

How Ignitium Appears In The World

Ignitium spawns once the planet finishes burning and the surface becomes accessible again. The ground will be dark and charred, which makes the orange glow easy to spot. Spawns are spread across open surface areas affected by the rupture.

It does not appear in caves, sealed areas, or underground zones. It also does not spawn near bases in a predictable pattern.

Ignitium Spawn Limits And Despawn Rules

Ignitium is temporary by design. After a short period following the rupture cooldown, all Ignitium still on the ground will despawn automatically. There is no mechanic that refreshes or preserves it in the world.

This despawn timer is tied to the rupture system only. Difficulty settings, tools, and player progression do not affect it.

When Ignitium Can Be Collected

Ignitium can only be collected after the planet cools enough to leave shelter. Waiting too long reduces how much is available. Once the rupture state fully clears, Ignitium no longer exists on the surface.

Once picked up, Ignitium is safe. It will not decay or disappear from inventory or storage.

Why Players Miss Ignitium

  • Leaving shelter too late after a rupture

  • Searching caves or plateaus instead of burned surface zones

  • Expecting Ignitium to behave like ore deposits

  • Assuming it respawns naturally over time

Final Blurb

Ignitium is not hidden, rare, or random in the usual sense. It is governed entirely by rupture timing. Once you understand that rule, Ignitium becomes predictable instead of frustrating.
