Tavern Keeper How to Save
Tavern Keeper

You spend hours running your tavern, hiring staff, and serving drinks. Losing progress would hurt more than a spilled keg. Here’s how saving works in Tavern Keeper so you don’t start from scratch.

How to Save in Tavern Keeper

To save your game, open the pause menu in the top right corner of the screen. Then pick the save option. That’s it. The game doesn’t save on its own, so you have to do it by hand.

When you save, the game sends your data to Steam Cloud. This means your tavern progress stays safe even if you switch computers. Just remember that Steam Cloud needs an internet connection to sync.

Where the Save Files Go

Tavern Keeper doesn’t use normal local files like some games. It keeps everything in Steam Cloud. You can see your saved data on Steam under the Tavern Keeper page in your account settings.

If you want your own copy, you can turn off Steam Cloud in Steam’s settings. That makes the game save to your computer instead, but you’ll have to back it up yourself.

Smart Saving Tips

  • Save often, especially before Story Book events or hiring new staff.

  • Don’t rely on autosave. The game doesn’t have one.

  • If your tavern is about to go broke, saving won’t stop the countdown.

  • Wait a few seconds after saving to make sure Steam Cloud uploads your data.

Final Blurb

Saving in Tavern Keeper only takes a second, but it can save hours of work. Always hit that pause button before quitting. No one wants to rebuild a burned-down tavern twice.
